I don't know if anyone has seen it reflected anywhere yet? I thought fordvideoguy and or others have indicated that it will appear in the end when window sticker or other final pricing is generated. That's what I'm counting on.
Another dealer had a statement on from Ford that stated the discount was meant to show up yesterday but they had "technical issues" and it might not show up for a couple weeks. Those technical issues might be why Ford ultimately punted scheduling.

I contacted my dealer requesting to change from Hybrid to EcoBoost per this memo and got the following response...

" as far as I know, we may not be able to change the engine on your order as it may just cancel out the order entirely. That is from my sales manager that handles our orders. My recommendation would be to keep your order exactly the way it is. "

Any thoughts on how I should proceed? Shouldn't all dealers have received this memo?
i would recommend you go in person. My dealer didn’t know about the memo until I spoke with them. We then looked at it together and modified my order together. He even laughed and said he should probably call the other hybrid orders and ask if they would like to switch based on that memo.

I just went in to my dealer to add the discount package: SIBL and CM System $495 deal. Though they acknowledged the discount package, they had to enter the items separately. The Cargo M. System was "flagged" as an item in short supply. Is this just something that's not updated in their system yet? Has anyone else had that experience??

I do not have a lot of confidence of a mention of a leather steering wheel in a picture of a listing of Lux components. Any independent confirmation that leather steering wheels are back in the XLT Lux package?

Ford obviously makes more selling Ecos than hybrids. Why they're priced the same is beyond me. ...
I am sorry, but why is it obvious? Last year hybrids where several thousands less; this year the base price is the same. Are you saying that the hybrid drive trains is obviously more costly than the pure ICE Ecoboost one? Ford certainly has an incentive to sell hybrids over Ecoboosts as they decrease the CAFE averages so they may underprice them- is that why it is obvious?

. . .
Regardless, the dealership SHOULD still know how many Maverick orders they submitted, as well as what their allocations are. I just wish they would share that info, so that I could tell if I've got 50% odds (hybrid on order) or 25% odds (dealer took twice as many orders as they have allocations).

One dealer won't tell me a thing - says they have no idea how many allocations they are getting, and won't share the number of Mavericks they ordered. The other one flat out told me they got 27 allocations, and that they took 27 orders, so if Ford happens to have a Hybrid slot when "my" allocation comes up, I should get it. ...
Two orders with different dealers because of concerns about dealer allocations. One says number of Maverick orders less than their allocations. Another (a very high volume dealer) says contract with dealer prohibits him from telling me the number of the dealer's allocations or the number of orders vs. their allocations. But he says they had lots of orders (20-to-1 hybrids vs. Ecoboosts) but as I have an Ecoboost/Tremor order, he believes that mine should PROBABLY get built.

Why wouldn't that be the case? They have to license the tech from Toyota, and batteries have gotten more expensive. Go look up how much a replacement prius battery pack is. I'd bet it likely costs Ford an additional 2+ grand to build the hybrid over the Ecoboost.

My dealer said he expected the discount to show up at the time my order invoices to the dealer, which is around the time the window sticker can be generated.

I noticed on the Build and Price, leather is now there. I swear it had “vinyl” the last time I looked. I guess we’ll find out If we get lucky and get a truck.

@fordvideoguy does this ability to change engines include the tremor? A user above reported it didn’t work. Should dealers first try and save the hybrid to eco change and then add tremor as a package in a follow up change?
You change the body code from W8E to W8G, which gives you the Tremor. Even though it's a package is not available without the Advanced AWD.

They have to license the tech from Toyota
Nope, Ford ended up doing a patent swap with Toyota for the eCVT. And even if they had, patents only last 20 years and Toyota's eCVT has been out now for more than that.

In years past (2004) it was reported that Ford had licensed 20 patents from Toyota to create their hybrids. Perhaps that's no longer the case, or required.

Regardless - the overall point is that I have no doubt a hybrid Maverick costs more to make than the EB version. Just on the 27 kW battery alone.

Prius dates to 1997 and the patents would have to be older than that. Over the 20 year patent life.

The 22 Escape Hybrid was also cheaper than the corresponding 22 Escape 2.0 EB. The Escape is not a low end truck.

kWh is the more representative spec for electric/hybrid battery size. The Maverick's is 1.1 kWh

I also see Leather Wrapped Heated Steering Wheel included in the XLT Lux Package. But I recall seeing that the leather was being replaced by "pleather" for 2023. Maybe pleather became a constraint so they went back to the natural? ;) Oh well, having one natural item in the cab might clash anyway...

Correct: I just copied the first number I saw which was reported as 27kW, 1.1kWh.

Ford has, in the past, had an agreement with Toyota. It's unclear if some of the tech Ford uses is still part of said agreement.

https://global.toyota/en/detail/1049108

This article states that Toyota has opened it's patents to use for free until 2030. So clearly they still own the rights to certain aspects of tech. It also states that Toyota will then offer to consult for a fee. I know in the past years Toyota and Ford had a short lived partnership for creating hybrid trucks.
