Hybrid violently shakes under load

I don’t have a hybrid but I have a constant shake when driving and a loud bang when braking and turning, my dealer cannot figure it out after 3 attempts of just taking off the tire and checking suspension! I am getting really pissed, I’ve had it for about a year and it’s been doing it since about the start, only 7700 miles on it! My dealer wants me to drive it until it breaks, no thanks I just bought a cheap van to drive until they fix it! HEY FORD ACCOUNT, How about you look into this!

I just got a call from the dealer just a few minutes ago and they said the driver side control arm was struck and so was the axle, they say that it is not in round and will need to be replace. They quoted me $1500 to replace it.

I’m going to have to investigate and see if that’s actually the problem. The service advisor said there was 5 people working on it for the past 3 days. Since it was struck. I now have to pay for the loaner and diag fee. I’m not happy about it.

Struck? Is that something that happens off-roading, or if you meet a nice log in the middle of the road? Sounds like something insurance ought to cover at this price point if that's the way it is.

Impact. Not mechanical defect covered under warranty.

Right you are on insurance, depending on the coverage in place on the vehicle and what exactly caused the damage.

Presuming, that is, that the dealer is not simply erroneously saying that it was road damage.

turns out, after quoting me $1500 plus a diagnostic fee of $200 and charging me for the rental because it wasn’t under warranty, I asked her what the point was of having an extended warranty if they can’t even cover my stuff that’s under the current warranty.

She then told me that she didn’t know I had an extended warranty and said it is completely covered with $100 deductible. I asked her how this apparent physical damage is now covered under an extended warranty and she couldn’t give me an answer.

they are ordering parts (2 week lead time) and I’ll let everyone know if that was the issue once I get the truck back.

Maybe the extended warranty also includes something like an extra cost road hazard warranty the tire stores offer. If you have the extra warranty and pop a tire on a curb they will replace it under warranty.

I had a problem as described with my brand new 4 cylinder Ford many years ago. It turned out a spark plug wire went bad. Maybe a cylinder is misfiring.

Alright, another update, now they are not covering it. The claim was denied. I’ll have to change it myself because the service is a 2 hour job. That breaks down to be $500/ hour. No thanks lol

Love the pricing outta the gray book. Then they put the cheapest shop monkey on the repair.
Anything not under warranty I do myself or it goes to local competent mechanic. Good luck.

So i climbed under the vehicle and there is no such mark on neither the A arm or the axle (cv shaft). I have an appointment at another dealer on Tuesday.

Or a bad fuel injector. That's what caused bad vibrations in my Fusion Hybrid.

What does it do when you put it in neutral and rev the engine? If it shakes without the vehicle moving, then it's probably an engine problem.
