It's about the same "fix" as FORD is offering.

I'm still waiting for Ford to offer the one that has access panels for the oil filter and plug, so you don't have to take that whole plate off just to do an oil change.

I'm going to "attempt" to make access panels in the current one. There's a file for 3d printed ones on thingyverse.

Got the "new and improved" underbody splash guard on my 2022 hybrid today. Got it "on the house" from my dealership but they only cost $51 and are also used on Escapes.

This looks like the one on my '23 Hybrid, got it March 21st 2023

My Chrysler 200 has a rigid felt one after 8 years is still in good shape in the Indiana snow belt area with lots of road salt, any improvement should include a small removable section for the oil filter removal and drain plug.

2023 and beyond should come with this. 2022's had a solid panel that "could trap oil and gasoline fumes"...
So dealers had to hand cut vent holes... sometimes sloppily.

Maybe they should build cars that don’t leak oil and fuel and generate fumes that need to be untrapped. So frustrated with this recall clown show.

This is a distinct new vehicle. Bound to be some growing pains. But some say it's not that new if you consider the Escape has been around a long time.

Had access panels on my wife's Kia but they were worthless. Not enough room to check for leaks or fully hand tighten the filter.
