Abraded wiring under the hood going to this device - what is it?

I was doing an inspection under the hood of my 2022 Maverick hybrid when I noticed damaged wiring going to something located on the right-side of the compartment. I'll probably end-up fixing the insulation myself but was wondering if anybody knows what this is?
