I really like spray-in bed liner(back in the day it was a constraint, so opted out)
I see few videos in youtube for DIY spray-in bed liner.

Did any one of you tried it ?
Is it worth a try ?
Will I be left with more mess to clean-up ?

other option, a drop-in bed liner is okay I guess but really like the look of spray-in

lmk, happy mavericking !

My worry about a drop in is always leaks that cause rust, since the Maverick is unibody you can't just replace a bed. I'd stay away from a drop in.

Why live in fear when you should just enjoy what you have at the moment? Rust don't happen over night and when it does happen we probably have a solution for it. Who knows Elon Mollusk will put himself on Mars when your rust problem becomes an issue years from now. Live a little.

All I can say is, don’t do a cheap roll-on liner. It will look and feel terrible, and it won’t last. If you can’t get a good spray-in liner, just get a purpose-made rubber bed mat. Most of those have rubber bumps on the bottom to allow drainage.

Had a drop in liner - those that say it never leaks are wrong; depending on fit, mine leaked. I have the sprayer and all equip to do a DIY, but my LineX SIBL guy did a perfect job, removed all floor loops, bolts, taped off, etc.etc. And 3 guy did the job in 1 hr 35 minutes while I sipped a cup of coffee…($535) + a 1 yr warranty. I checked and "amateur" bedliner coating was $150+ so labor was a big part of cost. I know it would have taken me 5 or 6 hours. I watched my 3 guys tape off the body and bed in 20 minutes that would have taken me probably an hour....they had the tape, tarp and plastic sheets made just for the job...…and I would have never done as good a job…It’s a $25+k truck, why risk screwing it up…to be able to say I did this myself and saved $200. 70% of the SIBL is prep'ing the job, covering truck body, taping and removing all the hardware and returning the same, then using a special tool to scuff up the truck bed and inside wall paint.

Edit: LineX, and I assume others are sprayed on HOT (something the DIYers can't do) and this greatly helps the adhesiveness to the bed. Plus my warranty is life time for material, my Linex guy said they gladly patch any cuts or puncture holes, just cover their labor costs.

screwing up isn't something that people who are DIYers take into account. What to do when the job ends up looking all fvked up? How are you going to fix it and at what cost? DIY is only to a certain extent. Know your limit and pass the job onto the professionals.

Paying the $ to have it done correctly and professionally (with a warranty) is well worth it...

Linex quoted me around 750 bucks, western NY I don't have a Mav but wanted to see what it would cost. . $535 you got a much lower price that they told me. .

NY is higher than anywhere...I'd try outside the NY area....I'd get on the phone outside the big city and check prices....all in my area were less than $600.

My LineX dealer had already done 50 mavericks, and had one himself. I reminded him about not clogging drain holes, and not drilling out drain holes to risk hitting a gas line. FYI it does take a LineX about 24 hrs. to cool off and harden. I had My buy install additional side attachment loops which he did while it was still hot.

I drive a Toyota 1994 pick up 28 years old with a drop in. No rust
anywhere.

I got mine SIBL with the Lariat Lux package, but would have ordered it or got Line-X if not. I had SIBL on my 99 Ranger, and still looked good after 20 years. Drop-ins? No thanks. Like putting a plastic garbage can in the back end.
