Are you planning to reorder and wait it out through 2024+? If it’s a different new vehicle, are you sticking to a truck or switching to something else?

I figure most of us, especially hybrids, must have an alternative plan. What’s yours?

I happened to find a Unicorn. My order for a Hybrid 2023 Lariat fully loaded was placed at 10 AM on Oct 3rd at Gary Yoemans Ford in Daytona. Knowing how scarce they are, and the chance of finding one unsold were almost nil. Having never driven one, or seeing one up close
I drove by the dealership on Saturday, and saw one . I asked if I could drive it. He said it was already sold, BUT just happened to have a demo that WAS available WITH 4200 miles on it😳. It is a Lariat , eco boost, not a hybrid, and wasn’t EXACTLY what I ordered, and was AWD. So we made a deal. I bought this one, and when ( LOL ) mine gets built, I’ll trade it in for my original Mav . I call it a win win , so, I guess miracles do happen . The truck is everything it is cracked up to be so far, and I’m very happy

I will wait for a '24. Maybe they will have a plug-in hybrid by then which (for me) would be awesome.

Or maybe something else will pop up, who knows. My Jeep is a 2017 and in good shape so I'm not in any hurry.

Heck, by that time they will probably have the full EV Maverick Lighting and I'll dump the Hybrid pig so that Ford can string me along with that one.

We are down to one vehicle. So it'd be nice to get something by the spring/early summer.

If I end up finding something cheap to hold me over for a year or two, I wouldn't be too worried about what happens.

With that being said, if Ford punts my order - it'll very likely be the first and last time I ever deal with Ford. If they offer an EB instead of the hybrid, I'd only consider it if they add AWD at no cost. A FWD EB will have far worse resale in my neck of the woods.

So right now the only thing I can do is wait and see what the new year brings.

I'll buy something else. Ford isn't the only company that makes vehicles and the Maverick isn't the only vehicle Ford makes. I would like to have it because it fits what I am looking for, but I quite being emotionally invested in my vehicles a long time ago. They are just very expensive tools designed to do a specific type of job. If I can't but this hammer, I'll find another one.

Corolla Cross. I wanted to downsize from my RAV4. Then, the Maverick came out. Whoever gets their act together first will get my money.

I went in knowing my MY23 hybrid Lariat Lux order was a crapshoot so will be perfectly happy with my 12k mile 2019 Ranger while I wait. If I was offered the chance to change to EB I would hard pass as the fuel mileage isn’t significantly better than my Ranger. If my order can be converted to MY24 we’ll see what things look like then.

I’d probably roll the dice with the new Ranger over waiting any longer for a Mav. They strung me along over a year teasing me with an affordable Lightning which was never available outside of fleet. Then they bumped everything $8k and even an XLT Lightning was unaffordable. I can’t bring myself to buy the last MY of the Ranger, especially not at MSRP

I'd probably look at a Tacoma or another full size Ram.

IF my MY23 Lariat does not get built I will consider ordering a MY24 but I will also look around to see what other hybrid options are out there at that time. Not looking for anything that isn't electric or electric assist. I want that MPG!

I have my trusty 03 F-150 and a very nice convertible. Both run just fine.
I'll wait it out. Well, until someone comes out with an all wheel drive hybrid.

Interesting mix of options, but seems like most people are waiting it out.

I’m also trying to wait it out with my 2002 CRV at 180k miles. If I can get a Chevy Equinox EV 2LT before my Maverick would be delivered, I’m switching to that no doubt. If MSRP is between 35-40k, it would likely come out cheaper than my Lariat so I’m down to give it a go.
