"The lack of communication around this process is astonishing." What are they supposed to be telling you???????????????? They don't even know when they will get the parts they need so how do expect them to tell you anything????????????????
Don't you think Ford should have set expectations from the beginning of the process? Maybe have a more transparent allocation and scheduling process? They had no problem taking more orders than they knew they could fill while customers are left to search out forums like this one to get information for what is going on or calling Ford frequently to try to get updates. I don't think that is a good strategy to launch a new vehicle. Now you have someone like me that will not talk positively about the process to other people and that could affect future sales at least in the near term based on that especially with the amount of people having issues between Broncos, Bronco Sports, and Mavericks. I hear other issues about other manufacturers but nothing as bad as I am seeing with Ford and their new vehicle launches.

My Maverick (if it's ever built) will be my seventh straight Ford vehicle and each one was purchased through the same sales rep. When I placed my order (11/15/21) I asked about placing a deposit. My rep said not to worry, if in the future I chose to walk away from the vehicle he'd have it sold that same day to someone else. As we can all tell, demand far outweighs supply.

When I handed my ordered, but not yet built, XL over to the dealer, after finding a delivered and refused Mav, the GM complained that it would affect their allocation if the customer who ordered didn't take delivery on that vehicle.
I have no idea if that's true, or he was trying to make me feel bad about buying from a different dealer.
I agree with this from what our dealer, not the salesman, has stated. The dealership gets "dinged" if the original order goes to someone else.

Ford, nor the dealer will care. Either way its a sold unit to the dealer for Ford, and it will be a sold unit within days for the dealership.
