Did I say "all of you" or did I say "some of you"? Take a look again at the post you quoted. If you'd bothered to read even that first line, you'd have seen that I said "some" and clearly you are not in that category.
I am just going to say I think some might react to your post not so nicely as a small sedan isn't even close to a pick up. If it was a suv or at least a hatch back which allows you some ability to haul things is one thing. A sedan is like a complete jump into something not even close to the Mav.

its like saying I was going to buy a mansion house but decided a micro trailer home is also a good choice. People might go what the ##$@# .

I myself cant imagine thinking i wanted a Mav then say I will get a small sedan instead. .

Hey if a sedan suits you great,. but I bet you wont get nice replies to that. Just saying.

Really depends on what you wanted the Maverick for, the most. I've always had trucks, want a truck still, but also NEED the MPG of the hybrid. If it becomes clear Ford isn't going to build my truck, and next year come rollover time equally evident they're going to price me right out of the market (which I fully expect), then it comes down to what do you need the MOST -- a truck or a hybrid? Cuz apart from someone introducing a new one, the Mav is your only option for both. If the hybrid is more important to you, sedan or small SUV it is. Simple logic and available types of vehicles.

If the Toyota dealer gets a Cross before the Ford dealer gets a Maverick, one will be in my garage.. I have a RAV4 and I have owned a Camry and a Vibe. Great cars.

Some of you like to pretend you need a truck because you went to Home Depot twice this year. U-Haul has about 16 locations in my small town where they'll rent you a truck for $19.95 a day. I am buying the Maverick because I like it, but the Corolla Hybrid could easily take its place.
With your name, shouldn’t you be shopping at Lowes ?🙃

Not sure anyone NEEDS a hybrid. They have only been around for a few years. Better mpg is nice but not essential. I do NEED AWD so I don’t get killed on icy roads.

I have retirement coming up next year that includes extensive road time. My retirement budget therefore NEEDS my ride to be a hybrid.

Why don’t you NEED a electric car then? Will save you more? A none hybrid Honda Civic gets 42 mpg highway, cost 22k, better than the Maverick.

I am in a similar boat. I had a Toyota Matrix, and it hauled a lot of crap. Downside is it took a bit of a beating over the years, from hauling things better served by a truck. I actually bought it to replace a '97 ranger, and chose it because of the folding seats I could fit a pallet of product for my business at the time. Toyota treated me really well.

Only downside to renting, is that can take a 1 hour project run and turn it into 3-4. ( Hence how my Matrix had some scars because I made things fit to avoid taking longer to do something. I got funny looks loading 10' + into it :ROFLMAO: )

If I get up and the roads are icy, I just go back to bed.

AWD was very rare in the U.S. automotive industry until the last two decades or so, amazing how many of us survived on icy roads without it. Countless objective tests have shown how proper tires are significantly more important than how many drive wheels you have in icy/snowy conditions; those extra drive wheels are not helping you stop or turn, but automotive marketing is pretty amazing. You need AWD as much as they need a hybrid.
