I wouldn't be surprised if this hybrid was underrated. It feels like the punchiest 190 hp I've ever felt.
It's not underrated and it's not as punchy as you think. A 0-60 time in the high 7's and a 1/4 mile in the high 15's says it all.

Driven vehicles with more power than the EB, it's not that powerful.
I have too. It is all relative. Whose EB did you borrow for your testing the power capabilities of the EB????? Looks like you have a hybrid.....

Nature of the beast(s). The Hybrid is probably quicker out of the blocks with the instant torque of it's electric motor when compared to the EB with it's turbo lag. When the Turbo starts to sing the Hybrid's getting short of breath. Game's over at 30mph.

Experimented with sport mode today and holy cow. This thing is beast!!!! So much fun. You could hear and feel the throttle open up.
It definitely scoots! I used a Pedal Commander with my old hybrid and it felt great as a daily and had a nice punch in Sport mode.
I picked up about 2 tenths 0-60 with the hybrid, but lost a tenth with the PC and the Ecoboost.

You get a lot of power in sport or tow hall modes for sure, since both combine both power sources full time.
So if they "both combine both power sources full time" how long until recharge hits and you lose that power from the internal combustion engine ICE? I had a honda hybrid where the recharge would happen on long hills and instead of ICE power + electric power ( 98 hp + 13 hp = 111 hp ) it was 98 hp - 13 hp = 85 hp,

I don't know, I don't really use sport mode. Did it once just to see what it was like, spunkier for sure. I bought the hybrid to use less gas, using sports mode very long throws that out the window. I used tow haul when I had a heavy load of scrap metal to move, and wanted more power to get up a steep hill, so no more than a minute or so. I'm not one to do jack rabbit starts, so it's not something I need.

I read in a review that it was opposite actually. 0-30 the EB beat the Hybrid, but then the Hybrid outgained the EB and was only a few tenths slower overall. I’ll try to find the article. From what I recall, their 0-60s weren’t remarkably different, they said towing is a different story.

edit: I swear I read an article that did 10MPH split times for both but can’t find it, maybe it was a YouTube review. According to MT, the Hybrid is about half a second slower which ain’t bad if you’re just spec comparing but I’m thinking it’s a bad comparison XL Hybrid vs fully loaded Lariat FX4 (https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2022-ford-maverick-hybrid-compact-truck-first-test-review/amp/)

I believe this is what you're looking for:

This is some motor Trend data from last month. I just got around to seeing it today.

The far two right columns are mine.

EB with 4k has a gear ratio advantage on take off versus a non 4K EB. The 0-40 mph lead would therefor be smaller without it.

Hybrid is 0.5 seconds quicker 60 to 80mph and 0.2 seconds quicker 40-70 mph which leads to the 45-65 mph 0.1 second that MT stated.

Who would have thought the hybrid would win a 40 mph roll race to 90 mph by 0.4 seconds!

This 4k EB ran the 1/4 mile in 15.4 sec at 88.9mph
The Hybrid ran the 1/4 mile in 15.9 sec at 89.7mph

That's awesome for us.

I do believe the non-shifting eCVT gives a large advantage to the hybrid.

Driving solely in Sport mode for me still yielded a solid 10+mpg over what I get in my Ecoboost.
If it’s more enjoyable I wouldn’t hesitate to keep it in Sport mode; if you enjoy/prefer to hypermile then keep it in Normal/Eco.

For reference the 1989 Ford Taurus SHO (stick shift, 220hp) was 0-60mph in 6.5seconds. It was the fastest FWD car in the world at the time.

It started under $20k. The ONLY faster 4doors in the world were the BMW M5 ($50k) and BMW 7series ($70k).

I liken the Maverick to the Taurus- which was game changing in the US. First car with plastic headlights, more aerodynamic design, low price for lots of base features (power windows etc...)

Maverick is also a game changer for US= utility meets price.
