It's pretty nice when you're getting onto a highway, that's for sure.

Technically you don't need sport mode for WOT/full throttle.

Even in Eco mode, when full throttle is applied, it's the same in all modes. If it's a hybrid, both sources come up to their factory preset maximums depending on operating conditions, such as available battery power, adequate fuel supply, etc.

I can't remember where I read this, but the logic is that if full power is being requested, Eco mode is not going to damp that out to smooth the power delivery, which would ordinarily improve efficiency at the cost of a less responsive throttle. Efficiency momentarily takes a proverbial back seat.

Experimented with sport mode today and holy cow. This thing is beast!!!! So much fun. You could hear and feel the throttle open up.
I’ve used it a couple of times but the simulated shift sounds just make me laugh 😂

hey, I didn't expect to hear the throttle so that was a plus. Just having fun with this truck which I didn't expect it to perform like it did. At the end of the day it puts a smile on my face and that's what counts.

Are you sure that 190 horse power really felt that strong or was it the ECM changing the throttle response that impressed you?

Not sure but it doesn't matter. It felt great. Imma grab a beer to celebrate. You want one?

I had the same reaction, and then I felt extreme shame because I knew it was "simulated" shifting. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I've only done it twice in 6K miles...because I choose to have a sense of personal integrity.

Haven't even used sport mode yet, but the hybrid scoots. I know it "only" has about 190 hp. But the lighter weight and instant response from the electric motors makes it feel super peppy. At lower speeds, maybe from zero to about fifty or sixty, I'd say it feels about as punchy as our 2017 NA explorer, and that thing has close to 300 hp.

I wouldn't be surprised if this hybrid was underrated. It feels like the punchiest 190 hp I've ever felt.

Sport mode is very fun! Instant throttle response. It’s faster then my old 262hp v6 Kia Sorento. I also had a few mustang gts (2001 and a 2007) back in the day and this hybrid is just as fun off the line!

Is that 190 hp only based on the gas engine?
