I know it isn't personal. And I'm not making excuses, I work for a dealer and try to help by presenting the facts. The 22 VINs have to remain in the system for at least as long as until the transitions to 23 orders is completed. I'm not wanting people to be miss-informed thinking that these 22s will still be built. Or that their 23s will automatically be scheduled/have already been submitted/scheduled.
There will be an extra step that the dealer will need to do to get the 23 orders submitted and eligible to be considered for scheduling. Based on the info we have now, Ford will automatically convert the orders in WBDO, but the orders will be given a 99 priority code (which means "hold, don't scheduled"). Dealers should be consulting with customers (about options/changes) before resubmitting the 23 order with a retail priority code (10-19). Affected customers should follow up with their dealer to make sure that all the necessary steps have been taken. Ford has yet to inform dealers as to what exactly these steps will entail. I expect that dealers will get that info sometime next week.

I have no insight on the supply-line issues. Tons of parts are on backorder....the only answers that dealers can get are "supplier/material constraints" and "supplier past due, no ETA".
When they scheduled those 7,000 hybrids, their suppliers probably had promised to provide enough parts in the time frame, but that obviously isn't going to happen, so they are scrambling trying to figure out what to do. They cancelled retail and stock Escape orders the week before they did the Maverick. That is the first that I have heard of Ford cancelling any significant number of scheduled retail orders.

Ford says that these 22s that have to be rescheduled as 23s will be given priority over others (but they haven't said how...). Ford did say that "constraints" will still be a factor. And allocation will as well. They said that the rescheduling would likely take place over months:

"All allocation will be returned to the affected dealers as 23MY allocation in the coming wholesales. This replacement allocation will likely be provided over several months – not all at once.
Ford is working on a solution to automatically transfer over these 22MY cancelled orders to 23MY on the dealers’ behalf. When these orders are transfered to 23MY, we will plan to prioritize them ahead of other 23MY Hybrid orders pending other commodities restrictions. A future communication will be provided when we have final instructions on moving these orders to 23MY with any additional actions required."
Yes, thank you for giving us information that, apparently, most dealers cannot provide. My dealer got a text Friday from Ford saying basically “don’t make any changes to existing 22 orders so we can just roll them into 23’s”.

I guess these will all be built IN 2023, obviously not prioritized like they just said 2-3 weeks ago would happen.

I too was told by Ford Customer Support chat that my MY22 VIN (which had been stuck in December 19 hell) is now scheduled for week of 1/19/23 production. I'm beginning to wonder if the January 09 date is just a placeholder like the previous Dec 19 you are F*cked date.

That they put out a memo saying if your in December you will be cancelled, yet they still move the production dates around, says a lot. Maybe they are using it to "prioritize" the list, maybe not. Problem with thinking it is would be giving Ford way way way too much credit for even doing that at this point.

I didn't expect a MY2022 Vin tbh in those last weeks. But once they gave it I expected them to hold true to their word. I felt for those pushed with no VIN as Ford said "well trust the dealers to be honest assigning codes". Which was Ford screwing them over bad. Now Ford chooses to screw us over as well. A Velocity Blue MY2022 order has to make at least ONE change to there order...

I removed CP360 back in like January cause Ford said "you want your truck this year remove constraints". And then immediately Ford was building them after my order date with CP360. This was my first sign that Ford flat out lies at times.

I suspect Ford is like the Government, too hard to fire folks who have no clue what they are doing, too many in management with a degree who have no clue, and if Ford did hire you and you did know what you were doing you'd get fired cause your the biggest threat to the rest of them. I saw this at a mill I worked at. My bosses dad was a boss, so was his uncle, and I worked with their cousins. Worst Job (safety wise) I ever worked and it was Union (and everyone was related but me). Safety was horrid, they literally ran folks over (killed them) and still would NOT follow the safety measures. Union (yes Union) told me if I kept complaining about safety they would help fire me... which they did when I wouldn't.

That is exactly what I expected. How many times were we told: "Relax, if you have a VIN, it will get built."

Regional and dealer allocations, constraints, profitability, priority code. In that order.

My family has been a long time Ford Customer, I think close to 18 vehicles in the past 40 years. Ok, you might call me a fanboy, but I am just about out of patience with FMC. You can see the Maverick history in my signature below.

Was told if you have a MY22 VIN you will get it this year from both dealer and others. Got MY22 VIN only to be pushed back and back to 12/19/22--and then to 1/9/23. Was told those of us with 22 VINS would get Priority 2 to be placed ahead of other orders. Other 23 orders are getting scheduled and I am now told January. Funny thing, I called CS and they give me the January build week but with a MY22 VIN. Talk about screwed up.

Communication has been beyond bad. FMC continues to piss off customers and I for one am finally one of those who have lost all trust in them to give us the correct information. If being put in January for a build date is just a placeholder until they figure things out, how about an email telling us what you are doing and why. Be honest and stop leaving us in the dark. I am tired of feeling like the proverbial mushroom in a damp dark cave. Come on Ford, turn on the light and give us some fresh air.

This is exactly right. FoMoCo kicked the can down the road because they haven't quite figured out the details on how to deal with scheduled MY2022's VINs converted (a.k.a."rolled over") to MY2023's. Some of the details include how to handle deleted colors, deleted/ changed options, private offers, etc.

The only instruction from FoMoCo to dealers so far on the roll-over issue is: "Do not cancel any MY2022 orders until we say to do so" - hence the place holder (a.k.a. "cluster fuck") of January 09th.

There are no FoMoCo e-mails communicating the Jan 09th change, you find out by talking to your dealer or talking to FoMoCo CS.

Expect to be contacted by your dealer (hopefully in the near future) to discuss changes to your order once FoMoCo figure out how to handle it.
We will know more on October 31st.

I think that they still will be "prioritized" to some degree....but not to the degree that most of us would like!

Kind of like when ford said they were going to a first in, first out ordering system regardless of dealer Allocation, and then the ceo went on the record to say the dealers wouldn’t be marking up units above msrp or they would get “penalized “? And that ford was going to go to a customer based ordering system 😂

And then just like that, poof…. All gone!

My salesperson told me my Order placed late Sept/Oct that was previously scheduled, now shows a build week of 1/9/23.
Do I believe it?
I believe that's what they see, for sure.

But I do not believe the date.
At this point it's like some kind of cheating boyfriend.

I don't believe you.gif
I just called Ford to try to find out what is happening with my in limbo order. I was given the 1/9/23 date also . I haven't received an email from Ford to confirm this . I have seen posts of orders placed last month already having December built dates ( including hybrids) If that happens before those of us that have waited over a year Ford will have some explaining to do!!!!

The scheduling movement emails (usually) come on Tuesdays, if that date was moved after Tuesday last week then you won't get an updated email until tomorrow.

Like Tim (FordVideoGuy) said earlier, we're supposed to get some new information regarding what is supposed to happen with our orders today. Hoping for good news as a Chevy Colorado is looking pretty nice right about now.
