Yup, checked with CS today as well and was also told 1/09/23. No email and VIN still works in the tracker.

Today is the first day that the date that I ordered was blank in the tracker though.

My guess is that they decided to move us all to 01/09 just in case they don't have this clusterfuck figured out by the time scheduling 23s for the week of 12/19 occurs.
@fordvideoguy

This is exactly right. FoMoCo kicked the can down the road because they haven't quite figured out the details on how to deal with scheduled MY2022's VINs converted (a.k.a."rolled over") to MY2023's. Some of the details include how to handle deleted colors, deleted/ changed options, private offers, etc.

The only instruction from FoMoCo to dealers so far on the roll-over issue is: "Do not cancel any MY2022 orders until we say to do so" - hence the place holder (a.k.a. "cluster fuck") of January 09th.

There are no FoMoCo e-mails communicating the Jan 09th change, you find out by talking to your dealer or talking to FoMoCo CS.

Expect to be contacted by your dealer (hopefully in the near future) to discuss changes to your order once FoMoCo figure out how to handle it.

This…….is exactly what Ford is doing. So much for getting “prioritized ahead of any new hybrid orders”. Also told yesterday that my new (12th or 13th) build week is Jan 9.

Me too. Had a 22 vin and several build weeks. Didn't get a email so used Ford chat. Now a Jan. 9th build week with the funky ETA dates. Come on Ford get it together. We are seeing 23 hybrids getting build dates ahead of us

Yup. 1/9/23 production week scheduled now here for my XLT Hybrid...Still a 2022 truck according to Ford. ETA though is 11/23/22 so that time machine ford has is impressive. :D
I see that our dealerships 22 that will be cancelled and moved to 23 has also been given a Jan 9 production week. Still no update from Ford on what the next steps will be.....
All of these changes are probably to facilitate whatever they end up doing for the transition......

Yeah, that "prioritization" cannot happen until they enter the 23 orders into WBDO. Which should be soon.......

Ditto…12/19 prod date and VIN still valid.
They won't cancel the 22 VINs until the 23 orders are place.....and they may even have dealers leave in the ordering system for longer......

This is not meant to be personal in any way but why do folks keep making excuses for Ford? Did Ford just wake up a few weeks ago in mid-October and figure out that they weren’t going to be able to build some 7000 vehicles (hybrids) by end of November? No, I’m pretty sure they knew about this back in at least September, perhaps sooner, maybe even when my first build week was scheduled.

But, then again, why should I be surprised by anything Ford does. They recently said that they “were surprised” by an extra $1 billion in supplier cost increases. I guess they’ve been living in some kind of dreamland that everyone has not. On that note…..whose builds would they rather build first? Us old 22s at a lower sell price or new 23s at a higher sell price? That’s an easy decision. Screw the customer. They’ll get over it.

I know it isn't personal. And I'm not making excuses, I work for a dealer and try to help by presenting the facts. The 22 VINs have to remain in the system for at least as long as until the transitions to 23 orders is completed. I'm not wanting people to be miss-informed thinking that these 22s will still be built. Or that their 23s will automatically be scheduled/have already been submitted/scheduled.
There will be an extra step that the dealer will need to do to get the 23 orders submitted and eligible to be considered for scheduling. Based on the info we have now, Ford will automatically convert the orders in WBDO, but the orders will be given a 99 priority code (which means "hold, don't scheduled"). Dealers should be consulting with customers (about options/changes) before resubmitting the 23 order with a retail priority code (10-19). Affected customers should follow up with their dealer to make sure that all the necessary steps have been taken. Ford has yet to inform dealers as to what exactly these steps will entail. I expect that dealers will get that info sometime next week.

I have no insight on the supply-line issues. Tons of parts are on backorder....the only answers that dealers can get are "supplier/material constraints" and "supplier past due, no ETA".
When they scheduled those 7,000 hybrids, their suppliers probably had promised to provide enough parts in the time frame, but that obviously isn't going to happen, so they are scrambling trying to figure out what to do. They cancelled retail and stock Escape orders the week before they did the Maverick. That is the first that I have heard of Ford cancelling any significant number of scheduled retail orders.

Ford says that these 22s that have to be rescheduled as 23s will be given priority over others (but they haven't said how...). Ford did say that "constraints" will still be a factor. And allocation will as well. They said that the rescheduling would likely take place over months:

"All allocation will be returned to the affected dealers as 23MY allocation in the coming wholesales. This replacement allocation will likely be provided over several months – not all at once.
Ford is working on a solution to automatically transfer over these 22MY cancelled orders to 23MY on the dealers’ behalf. When these orders are transfered to 23MY, we will plan to prioritize them ahead of other 23MY Hybrid orders pending other commodities restrictions. A future communication will be provided when we have final instructions on moving these orders to 23MY with any additional actions required."

I appreciate you and the others who post here trying to present what you know about how things are currently.

Lots of us are frustrated, mostly with lack of communication on Ford corporates part. (And some dealers, but thats case by case). Dealers must be frustrated with this as well.

No one wants cranky customers blaming them for things they have no control over.

I understand that they can't share what the plan is until the have one, but even a bulk email to me and 7,000 of my closest friends (who got their VIN and build date kicked down the road) would be a nice gesture.

"we moved all the soon to be rolled over orders to a placeholder build date of 1/9/23 while we finalize how the transition will take place. Thanks for your patience and understanding." Didn't exactly take me very long to type. Pretty sure someone could have managed that.

That wandered a bit, but back to my original point, thanks to you and the other dealership employees here that do their best to keep us informed.

I'll put out my torch and put the pitchfork back in the garage for now.

Maybe @fordvideoguy will have some info for us Tuesday?
While Tim tries to cover it well this level is way past him and lets admit it, he's part of their system.

I posted on here hours before Tim told us some MY2022s would be canceled that this was coming down the pipes and MTC hide my post on it (and it turns out all my other post) from people viewing them.

So its clear MTC has decided to even limit bad news coming from members post if they can.

One thing that is clear is Ford moved low constraint trucks with vins out of build weeks to put in high constraint fresh orders. The only logical conclusion is $. Why sell me a XL for $4,000 below 2023 MSRP when they can sell a Lariat Lux for 2023 MSRP? If I walk away and they still fill that order (the XL one) they will still sell it (on Fords end) for MSRP, which is $4,000 MORE than I would have paid. The dealer will actually sell it for OVER MSRP.

Yes, at this point Ford has shown they really want us to walk away from MY2022 orders (and the special offer).

If I were Tim I'd not even do a video this week. At best he will have to gloss over the above, that Ford put high constraint fresh orders well in front of rolled over MY2022 w/vins. I'd not want to sit in those shoes, that would be like being the white house press secretary, ya know you'll have to lie straight faced every day.

Bingo. I explained it exactly this way today to my gf who asked me where my truck is.

The level of ineptness with Ford Marketing in this process has been astounding.
First, lets create a unique vehicle that has little to no alternative in the market. Gee, I wonder if it will sell well?

11/15/21...Oops....let's stop taking hybrid orders to make sure we can fill the orders we have

1/??/22...Oops...let's stop taking EB orders too, to make sure we can fill the orders

9/??/22...Oops. We need to get some of the "too-many" 2022 orders rolled over into 2023s because we can't fill the orders we mistakenly left open too long.

9/??.22..."Hey, I have a great idea...let's open up the order banks for new 2023 orders!"

10/??/22...Oops...."We can't fill the 2022 orders that we already assigned VINs to. Lets try to figure out what to do with those that we reportedly mis-guessed by 6,900 orders when we made people re-order last month!"

10/28/22...Hey! Lets start assigning VINs to some of the pile of rolled-over 22 orders AND the new 2023 orders....Surely the dealers prioritized them. Our group of pissed off people needs to be larger!! Oops...we haven't dealt with those 6900 pesky orders....

10/31/2...."Happy Halloween!"
