Second time this has happened. ‘22 2.0 turbo AWD XLT, 1800 mi. Coming up to a stoplight, firm, not panicked braking, and I heard the wheels lock up and I got a ”Brake” message on the display. Right hand nowhere near e-brake button. Has anyone ever experienced this? Also, is there a website where I can go, punch in my VIN and see the original sticker to this truck? Purchased thru Carvana.

Auto Hold on? If the brakes can't provide enough pressure, it'll switch to the parking brake. Or are you saying the parking rake engaged before you were at a complete stop?

Yes, it locked skidded for a second, message popped up, but disengaged as I began to accelerate into my turn.

And you're sure it wasn't ABS or traction control? Any idea what speed it happened at?

Under 5 mph.
Probably a good idea to see what the dealer has to say. Do you know what exactly the message on the display said? Or was it just the little green BRAKE icon on the instrument cluster, not the LCD with the trip readouts?

Regarding the window sticker, you should've been able to view that through Carvana's listing, or through the CarFax report from Carvana. Otherwise, you'll need to contact either Carvana or a Ford dealer to see if they can pull it up for you.

As mentioned in my previous post, those links tend to go down not long after the vehicle is sold. Dealers have access to window stickers going back years, but we can only view ones in production or recently sold. Since OP's was flipped through Carvana, it probably was originally sold at least a couple months ago.

Still worth a try but not likely to be available that way.

That is for the Hybrid, this seems to be something else since the OPs truck is a 2.0 AWD. Sounds a bit like auto hold is engaging prematurely, but thats just a guess.

Whoops. Missed that part. Knew something sounded funny.

Auto Hold shouldn't engage until the vehicle is fully stopped. Wouldn't hurt to make sure that's off and see if the issue recurs.

Would be interesting to know exactly what the "BRAKE" message on the instrument cluster says.

If it's a heavy grinding stop as the brakes are lightly engaged then yeah that's happened to my EB before a few times. Seems like slight pressure deviations will tell the computer "yeah driver wants auto-hold" and it'll throw it on even at a slight pace forward and suddenly you're braked but meant to be crawling. That's what Low mode is for I suppose, so you're not riding the brake and confusing the computer driver

Hi there, Ernie! I can look into your Maverick's brake concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?

I thought the Ford VIN stayed there for a year. Guess not, since mine is gone already.
