Just talked to the dealer and she said my XLT hybrid, CP and hitch, is still scheduled for 11/28 but may be pushed to a MY23. Sent her an email to change the color from Velocity Blue to Atlas Blue Metallic if it is converted. So I'm still in it for the long haul.

I'm interested in the Corolla as well - I'm seriously considering also ordering a hybrid Corolla. My wife owned a 2000 Corolla from new until 2018, and it was a great car. I was always impressed by the attention to detail they did in the engineering of making it easy to service, and the general layout of things.

Assuming I get delivery of the Corolla first, I plan on holding onto the Maverick order as well and see if it actually ever gets offered to me. At that point I can decide the best course of action.

Since my Ford dealer did a great job helping me with my order, and played no games, if I don't take delivery, I have no problem with them selling the Maverick to someone else for $5k over list.
I love my 2004 Infiniti but my friends in the auto business tell me not to assume the quality of vehicles a manufacturer is building now is the same (or better.) Most companies have been forced to make changes due to market conditions and they could be the same, better, or worse. Plus the quality across their entire range of vehicles can vary.

Was your 9/21 order scheduled and rolled to December 22 then to a ‘23??

If the Mav was not a hybrid I would not be interested in it. If it had no bed I would not be interested in it.
My production date got pushed to 11/28. I contacted ford yesterday and they said now it's 12/19. As others have mentioned on other forums any vehicle with a December date will get cancelled. Ford will make those orders a priority for the 23 model. Ford couldn't not keep up with the demand for the hybrid. My order is a hybrid one. In the coming weeks they will probably send a memo for those affected on how to secure their 22 to 23 conversation. Remember this is super last minute. They already had 22 roll over when they began accepting 23 orders. Now they had to do a emergency roller over for these last orders they will not be able to fullfil.

It's high on our list to replace my wife's car in the next year or so. Carvana'd my Corolla for my Maverick last winter because of inflated prices (it was newer than my wife's car and would have lost more equity as prices come down). Corrollas are great cars.

No thanks! I want something with a truck bed, even if it's a small one.

I worked at a Toyota dealership for a several years, they may be better in some ways, in others they're not. i.e. We stocked driveshafts, rear diff. coupling units, and rear diffs. for RAV4, Highlander, and Sienna minivans AWD models; and sometimes sold multiples of those a week, and once in a while in a day. Working at a Ford dealership, I can say what I seen go out the door there is many times over what I've seen go over the counter at Ford. And it's not to say they all don't have their problems, but those three items were all expensive and failed more often from what I'd seen.

A lot of people are replacing Honda Civics with Hybrid Mavericks according to reports I've seen. It's more about MPGs for many people.
I replaced my 2015 Honda Fit Ex with the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid because I wanted a truck not a car.

I bought the Fit when my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab reached end-of-life after 16+ years.

The reason for the Fit was because trucks got so bloated and expensive and way to big to fit in my garage. Also I wanted better MPG numbers which the Fit gave vs the current trucks available at the time.

So along came the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid and I can now have my cake and eat it too because I again have a truck that fits in my garage and has great MPG numbers.

My purchase of the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid doesn't count as a conquest sale to Ford (even though it was) because I sold my Fit to Carvana and bought the Maverick without a trade in.

Is the Corolla now a pickup truck? Not sure why a commuter car would be a substitute for a Maverick. 🙄
Why wouldn't it be? Most folks I know who have ordered a Maverick (the Hybrid in particular) already own a full-size truck for pulling and carrying stuff (i have an F350 for that). I put in an order in Oct 2021 for a Maverick Hybrid to replace a 2007 Ford Focus that was on its last legs (that unfortunately died and was sent to the scrap-yard in June). When I placed the order, it was promissed I would have the Maverick "by April at the latest" :-/

Why a Maverick? Better gas mileage than the Focus, cheaper than just about anything else on the market, and easy to carry my bikes (road/mountain/BMX). I never got a VIN and not really expecting my MY23 to ever be filled. I am seriously looking at the Corolla Hybrid (50 MPG, decent interior, better reputation and resale value than Ford, etc.). Pretty sure if I put in an order today it would come in way before the Maverick I have been waiting a year for. As for carrying my bike, I just need to add a $100 hitch (same as I had on the Focus) and good to go. A Corolla will still go 98% of the same locations as a Maverick for most people. For the other 2%, I have a real truck (but it will cost me 3x in fuel cost). As for price, with the Maverick price increase and the Corolla price decrease, they are now almost exactly the same.

At least down here in rural Texas, the Maverick is far more of a car or compact SUV replacement than a truck replacement. Folks are seeing it as something they can drive to work, still fit in the overly-small parking spots down-town, and still be able to buy dog food, a few bags of fertilizer for the garden, etc. on the way home. To me (and a lot of folks I know), the Corolla and Maverick are pretty much interchangeable with pros and cons to each (more versitility for the Maverick but better MPG for the Corolla). The Corolla is better for runs to the grocery store while the Maverick is slightly better for a run to Tractor Supply Company (but will use my F350 for runs to Lowes of Home Depot).

I recently pick up 13 sheets of 4x8 ply and a seperate load of drycore sub floor (90 pieces). The corolla would have come in pretty handy. If the toyota is a realistic option for you ,you should go that route, but lets dont compare the two vehicles.
