There is no official word, yet, that Ford will be canceling some of the remaining 22 Maverick orders, but I thought that I would share that this week ford announced that they would be canceling some of the Escape and Transit Connect.

10/12/22

Ford Maverick Fair Warning, some 22 Maverick's might be canceled. 1665805202050

And today, 10/14, they announced the same for Escape.

Ford Maverick Fair Warning, some 22 Maverick's might be canceled. 1665805275628

Are there going to be more cancellations? I don't know. All I know is that this sucks.

FWIW, Ford has drug on MY22 for a lot longer than they normally would. But I guess they do need to draw a line at some point.

Wouldn't it be converted to 2023s?

I had broached the subject of putting in an order for a 2023 with my salesman, just to be sure to get one at all. I opted not to do it. When I got my VIN, I've been assured that my 2022 VB XLT Hybrid will be built, so I was glad I put the idea to rest while I waited for the window sticker and build date. Now this bit of news regarding other models comes along.

Please chime in @fordvideoguy and tell us what you think about this and our options should we get dumped. Thanks in advance

Folks always say VIN & scheduling is a guaranteed truck. I still haven't seen an explanation or authority to explain why. A contract with Ford for delivery would be a/the way to get that guarantee and AFAIK none of us have that.

Hope it doesn't come to this, folks have been waiting so long in reliance on Ford's scheduling.

Unsettling news. Common platform with the Maverick, same engines and options less the hybrid. What I don't get is if it's constrained and unavailable for the scheduled 2022's, I don't see 2023's being much better off.

If Ford cancels trucks for those of us with VINs who have been waiting to be built I will of course be livid. As an earlier poster noted, such a scenario will be even more disgusting when you consider the fact they'll just begin producing 23s with the same specs. So how does it make any sense?!?!?

Oh, and unlike Transit and Escape, you CAN'T order a 23 Maverick anymore. So would Ford take someone with a VIN since summer and just tell them they aren't getting a truck at all? Ridiculous!

Every time I think they can’t make it worse for the end customer they surprise me with something else.
Almost the only way not to be disappointed by Ford is to not buy a Ford.

I don’t understand why some of you opted to not place a new order. That just makes no sense. And your options, should you get dumped, will not include a Maverick.

Maybe this is their solution to being unable to meet demand.

They better take returns on accessories for cancelled trucks if that happens, and I just sold my snow tires for my current vehicle. More stress. Thanks, Ford.
