I've learned a lot reading these threads. I ordered a Lariat Hybrid Jul 17, 2023...the first day the orders opened. I got to the dealer around 10 am. Mine was the third Maverick ordered that day. I got no explanation other than the hybrid would delay delivery. I might not even get a 2024 and it could be a 2025. Last I checked, they said possibly December of this year. Watching these threads, I removed any options that could be dealer installed. Now it's just the hybrid, black package, and sunroof. I was assured that changes don't change my order status. I mentioned that there are those on this forum who have received their orders in a matter of weeks even though they order months after I did. "There must be more to it."

I learned about allocations here. I asked the salesman about dealer allocations and was given the impression that that they don't apply to dealers. I asked for a copy of the preview order. It shows that I'm priority 19. I was never told that before.

I had my Expedition at a different dealer on Friday. I had time to kill and was speaking with a salesman. I told him about my order and he spoke to his ordering manager. The ordering manager was very diplomatic. "I don't want to disparage the other dealer..." Long story short, this dealer had 5 unused allocations. He said I should have already received my order from the other dealer. His experience was that it's taking up to about 16 weeks. I watched as he put my order in the system (I didn't get to watch at the other dealer). I'm getting the same Atlas Blue, Lariat, black package, sunroof. I'm Priority 3.

So now I wait. I have two identical trucks on order from two dealers 25 miles apart. The first dealer is unaware of the second order. The second dealer is aware that I'll take the first one that arrives. He'll gladly take mine into inventory for the short time it will take to sell.

Good move on your part. I pretty much ordered same Maverick on 7/18/23. Mine should be at dealer next week. Good luck!

That's the way it's done, son. Good job.

I did something similar. Had two orders at the same dealer. My 2022 was not built after 15 months, then the MY2023 order book opened up for an entire 5 days, so I ordered a MY2023 as well.

Order update - I got a VIN number today. Production is scheduled for May 6. I had to work backwards to see just which one is being scheduled. It's the one I just placed March 6th. So 8 days from order to scheduled. Still no word from the original order. I'll let it stay open until I get mine.

Beyond excited!

Another update. I now have build dates for both vehicles.

The first order from July 17, 2023 is due to be built the week of June 3, 2024. I received the email from Ford April 11. I can't remember the last time I heard from this dealer was February.

The second order was placed March 1, 2024. It's scheduled to be built May 7, 2024 (verified at the dealer today).

Looking forward to the arrival!
