So, something happened and some scratches showed up on my passenger side rear door. Looks like a grocery cart perhaps. I tried touch up paint but it looked like sh$t.
Luckily, my deductible is only $100 for comprehensive claims (I didn't say it was a grocery cart as I have no idea of the source). It's quite possible someone was thinking of breaking into the truck but saw I had a dashcam. Who knows. No, the camera wasn't running to catch it, but they didn't know that.
So, anyway, not only did the body shop say that it was the first Maverick that they had ever seen, much less worked on, but they said that they noticed that I didn't use a car wash as I had zero swirl marks. No, I don't use a car wash. I will spray off with power wand and then dry off with towels, but I don't put this car through the wash. Or I will hand wash.
I guess it would look silly with one part of the car with swirl marks and then this door without.
I'll have to wait a few weeks before next wash and 90 days before ceramic. Luckily, it turned out perfect.
Oh, just be aware that it will throw some faults while they are working on body work when they cover up for overspray.
