As a 11/15/2021 order holder with Granger of an XLT CP360 Lux, I applaud Zach and the Granger team for this. It builds respect for their customer first attitude.

Granger Ford, do you guys manually select all custom orders as priority 2? I’m curious if say you all have 300 Maverick orders if you all only have a select number at priority 2 based on earlier reservations and the rest are waiting their turn as the default priority 19? There has to be a simple reason that is being over looked which is causing such little to no allocations.
My understanding is dealer can only go as low as 10 on Priority. Anything lower is done at the plant.

Seems like if you won't be taking retail orders til next year while most every other dealer will possibly be taking them starting this year that if Ford determines it'll just go with First in First Out that anyone putting an order with you in 2023 will be way in the back of the line.
I think folks will wait on constraints longer than they'll wait because of their place in line. Knowing they changed from allocation to first in first out last year, who knows what they will change this MY? Even after the change to first in first out, people like me who ordered basic EB FWD trucks still got build dates before hybrids, CP360, Lux builds, etc. Props to Granger for saying that until they know and get it sorted out, there's no reason for them to pile on the orders. Most places would just keep stacking names on a list.

Next year? Ha. By then the 2023 order bank will be closed.

22 hybrids sold out in Nov 21 and EB in Jan of 22. This was with almost zero marketing. Now far more people know about the Mav and are planning on ordering a 23. Ford can't do enough to increase production versus the demand (supply chain obviously) that is coming for the 23s. Order banks will not be open long that's for sure.

Honor those commitments and see where the chips fall.
Pun intended? ;)
I have a ‘20 Escape. It and my Mav have the same 18” Michelin tires, and same 2.0 AWD drivetrain.
I like the Escape, but the lack of availability of the 2.0T engine and LED headlights on lower trims puts me in favor of the Maverick. (IIRC, the Bronco Sport is even worse with the 2.0T, I think it's only offered on a single trim level.)

We have the SEL. For ‘20 could get 2.0 with that, but no LED. Which did stink, but having fog lights helps.
Yeah, lack of 2.0 for Outer Banks was a deal breaker. Its wheelbase is even shorter than Escape, which was very noticeable to me.

Escape requires SEL or Titanium to get the 2.0L EB. Bronco Sport requires the top end Badlands trim. Side note, SEL is the only trim that can get all powertrain options - 1.5L EB, 2.0L EB, hybrid, plug-in hybrid. No 2.0L below that, no hybrids on a base S, no 1.5L above SEL.

It really does, and is especially jarring coming from a Maverick or Bronco Sport with LED headlamps and fog lights (in the latter, Maverick doesn't have them of course). A >$40k Escape SEL plug-in hybrid is stuck with dim halogen lights that aren't bright as high beams, meanwhile a $20k Maverick gets LEDs standard. At least that should change for the next generation if not the 2023 refresh...

Wasn't there a time not so long ago when Ford was supposedly going away from allocations, in terms of retail orders? Thus a retail could order could be placed at any dealer, then fulfilled by Ford on a FIFO basis (assuming parts were available to build it of course) regardless of the dealer it was ordered from or that dealers allocations. The allocation model was to stay but would only apply to dealer stock orders and the allocation fiasco would no longer have any implications on retail orders.

@NJBob reminded me of this a bit yesterday, which I do recall seeing elsewhere several times as well.
You're not dreaming.....the official Ford account posted a statement right here on this forum to that extent. Plenty of examples afterwards to prove their statement was completely false, including my own scheduling journey.

At least the official Ford account came back and set the record straight. (NOT!)

Ford's current PR group is a total train wreck.

Greetings to everyone,

There are some changes that are going to substantially change how the retail order allocation process works for the 2023 model year. We have yet to see how this all plays out until the 2023 model year allocation starts. With that being said, we are not going to be taking any retail orders to start the 2023 model year for 2 reasons.

1. We are obligated to fulfill the existing 2022 orders that will carryover to 2022.
2. I'm not confident we can offer the same (or similar) discount on 2023 models until I see how the allocation formula plays out.

Once we find out more information we'll be happy to pass it along, but I wouldn't anticipate an update until around the first of the year. That should give us enough time to fulfill existing orders as well as get our heads around the new allocations formula's full implications.

Sounds like some dealers got MY23 allocation news today(mostly bad). Any news for Granger ford? Thanks Zach!

We received our allocation estimate. To be frank, I don't think this will be all that accurate, but our total estimate is 4.

Allocation is now based on 2 factors. Sales history and availability. We have a decent sales history, but our availability is skewed because we have around 250 Mavericks yet to be delivered. Over the next couple of months as those deliver our sales history should rise significantly and our availability will fall in-kind.
