Agree 100%Not sure why FORD is offering something they cannot provide or placing limits. Bad business move and they will likely lose customers, especially if orders are not completed in a timely manner. Anything >3 months is unreasonable, imo.
your truck will get built faster if you remove the splash guards and the hard rollup cover and bed liner. Use the Ford Pass points you get to buy the cover and splash guards whenever they're available. Use your dealership or ideally your local LineX/Rhinoliner/Bulletliner place for the spray in liner and you get a lifetime warranty on itI keep going over my build every day deciding if I should switch from my XL to XLT with the same options (splash guards, hard rollup cover, spray in liner, 110V outlet and all weather floor liners). I will probably remove the splash guards since that is a late availability item.. I'm trying to be as cost effective as possible.
So please tell us in detail how you would manage this whole effort from inception to manufacturing to sales to give a better outcome? I will give you a head start by telling you it is a company valued at about $140+ billion, with a market cap value of around $50 billion. Not sure why FORD is offering something they cannot provide or placing limits. Same for me, I went to the dealership a few weeks back and the salesman told me 8-10 weeks so I believed him (I also believe in Santa Claus)reserved & ordered and now I see I'll be lucky to get it by spring??? Are the dealers that dishonest or that misinformed?I haven't read through the 18 pages of this thread and I am sure it came up already few times: The actual reason I started to look into the Maverick was because my ordered Bronco was most probably not going to arrive until mid-end of next year and I was looking for another car to bridge the gap. The internet sales manager told me about this great truck and that the availability is not going to be an issue and I should receive mine around September/October when I order beginning august. I really liked liked this truck and ordered one right away not knowing is going to be another disappointment. So this is the second car they are going to ef up for me!! I don't care pandemic or no pandemic, the launch was planned during the pandemic and by having the pandemic in mind. I am glad I didn't buy any Ford stocks because if this is another Bronco style mess, the wall street is not going to like it.
So on the Gladiator forums, there are people that ordered at the end of June and still don't have their trucks in production yet. That's a current model, in its second model year, with minimal chip shortages. Not sure why FORD is offering something they cannot provide or placing limits. your salesman lied to you or is misinformed. I bet you'll have your truck this year though.Same for me, I went to the dealership a few weeks back and the salesman told me 8-10 weeks so I believed him (I also believe in Santa Claus)reserved & ordered and now I see I'll be lucky to get it by spring??? Over the long term you will be happier with the XLT, the hitch $100, the co-pilot $540. Everything else can be done 3rd party later on. you can get a 110v device that plugs into the 12V for less money and higher wattage at Lowes, Home Depot or Harbor Freight.I keep going over my build every day deciding if I should switch from my XL to XLT with the same options (splash guards, hard rollup cover, spray in liner, 110V outlet and all weather floor liners). Ford is out here with a brand new platform, that started production two weeks ago, we're still before Ford's anticipated OKTB date, and we have cry babies on here mad that the order they made in June/July/August is taking too long? lmao
Probably a bit of both depending on who the general manager is and who he hired and why. A lot of these people are just order takers and are only concerned with getting a paycheck. If they have a quota.... how transparent will they be if that paycheck is threatened.Same for me, I went to the dealership a few weeks back and the salesman told me 8-10 weeks so I believed him (I also believe in Santa Claus)reserved & ordered and now I see I'll be lucky to get it by spring??? Ford has vendors and is NOT in control of all components in their final product. The same is true of their vendors, and their vendors. The final producer is at the mercy of a long line of vendors he has no knowledge of except the one he deals with directly. This is about common sense. Plain and simple. If Ford indicates they could build your Maverick if you had not added on an accessory like a tonneau cover, common sense says most folks would want their truck built and have that accessory back-ordered. No tears shed, just scratching heads.
Oh, 100%. I just assume we have to wait so long because we're awesome. That must be the reason, right?...Will that just make us that much cooler?![]()
Agreed. I received my order confirmation on 6/28 for my First Edition Hybrid (Area 51), no other add-ons. Still waiting with no word since then.Ordering that late, I doubt you will see it before spring. I ORDERED 7-20-21, and I do not expect it before then because of the number of orders(>100,000). If a person cancels an order , the dealer will just keep it in the system and sell it for market price when it arrives.
Totally understood. I just think common sense would dictate that certain accessories should be tagged by the manufacturer as items that should not hold up a build. A tonneau cover should be classified differently than something like a control module for the engine.Ford has vendors and is NOT in control of all components in their final product. The alternative is to control all means of production(down to the nuts and bolts) which can be daunting and actually slow the process of adding new technology to the final product.
