What shocks me they don’t even have f150 builder up . Like how??
23 F150 order banks opened 7-19 and the builder still shows 22. Ford's getting worse it seems... I'd bet dollars to doughnuts 2023 Maverick ordering will be closed before 2023 Maverick Build and Price is live. Will have to rely on the order guide to configure our orders.

I think if they removed it from FordPass, people would riot. Has happened with other "software" based options from other automakers that they tried to either remove or start charging a monthly fee to use.

I read it as they are removing the hard button on the key fob for remote start. Making it optional instead of standard.
Gotta say, like a lot of new features, I didn't really think I needed key fob remote start. But when it was hot AF this summer, I got decadent and used the hell out of that feature! I'm sure I'll be just as happy with it in the New England winter.

But I suspect I wouldn't bother to use the ForePass remote start; just that much more overhead.
So I'd be pissed off to lose my fob remote. Of course it's still available as a separate option. Just means you may have to wait a bit longer. Still feels like nickel and diming though; it's not gonna be a free option.

I guess all going be up by October but that doesn’t make sense still . For f150 . Chevy been rolling out their builds pretty quickly

Internet connection? W H A T o_O

Cell Phones use their own network, 4G, LTE, 5G.

The Maverick has its own modem on 4G

So "Remote Start" happens with the FordPass App without any "internet connection".

I have done this numerous times.
They took off the wifi hotspot . If you have no cell services it won’t work .

You are wrong.

The Wi-Fi HotSpot in the Maverick is not used for communicating with the FordPass App in the Maverick.

The internal modem in the Maverick is used for FordPass connectivity and it remains even with the HotSpot removal.
The Telematics Control Unit has a built in AT&T 4G LTE modem. That’s not going anywhere. It powers all the connected features.

All that’s being removed is that the TCU won’t have a WiFi hotspot. That means you can’t connect your phone, laptop, tablet, etc to the truck to get an internet connection.

Remote start as well as viewing location, oil life, tire pressure, odometer, distance to empty, etc in the FordPass app will not go anywhere.

Remote start via FordPass uses your smartphone to send a signal to Ford’s data center, likely in Dearborn or around the country. The server then sends a command to your truck over its AT&T LTE modem. That means the truck needs to be in range of AT&T LTE (or an older 3G network if available) in order to remote start it in app, and you need cellular or wifi data on your phone.

No signal (dead zone) on either end and you can’t remote start in app. In the middle of a desert with no cell towers, no remote start.

Remote start on your key fob simply sends a radio signal that is received directly by the truck. In the middle of a desert with no cell towers, remote start to your heart’s content, within 300 ft line of sight.

Bluetooth does not work at this application as it does not have the range of AT&T LTE, or even the 300ft of the key fob.

Bluetooth is short range and works well for Phone as a Key, but Ford only offers that on its EVs and Lincoln models.

It has Bluetooth in the truck but you would hard press to use it with no cell services …
Could not the phone and the truck simply communicate via bluetooth alone? Phones communicate with wireless speakers and as I said, drones, with no cell service required.

I'm ready to go Rachel Dolezal with a black appearance package. Overall seems like great upgrades for just the second model year, but the only thing that concerns me is that by making adaptive cruise control another purchase on top of the required luxury package, I wonder if a Lariat w/ adaptive is going to really balloon in price.

I've been hearing the order banks will close by month end. So only THEN will the info be available online?

Makes perfect sense. 🤪

Also, so the only real difference between XL and XLT is the wheels (and the exterior keypad, I guess)?? Any wheel option for XL other than steelies, cuz I can definitely live without the external keypad.
Also differs from the black XL interior to the unique interior you get orange accents on the XLT and a built in cup holders in the seats of both the XLT and lariat. The lariat gets activeX seats that are brown and blueish/black color along with push button start.

What the heck, NOW they add cruise control? And I was hoping you could get an XL Tremor - oh well, guess I’ll just wait for 2024. Better get this little truck let paid off by then :)

Not a huge deal for me as I was going to add it for under $100 and may get a leather wheel upgrade anyway. Always thought it was a nickel and dime thing with ford on the cruise, prob cost them $10 worth of switches to add it, whatever at least its easy. There is something fishy about the 15% XL constraint, makes me think they are going to be very hard to get for 23.
