C/R = Toyota, Honda, almost any other asian manufacturer. Always gets the nod even when they shouldn't

They aren't in the same class. Ridgeline is twice the cost, just to start.

I'm usually a fan of Consumer Reports, but this is a swing and a miss...
Almost like comparing a C/8 corvette vs a Mazda Miata.
Although good chance they would then point out the price difference and say the Mazda is superior.

Also, the Ridgeline is more medium truck sized (think Ranger or Colorado) than compact. CR also failed to mention that the FWD Maverick can be flat towed - no can do with the Honda.

A $40K Honda is better than a $20K Ford? What a surprise! I remember when Consumer Reports was a trustworthy magazine taking no funds from advertisers and printing the best reviews, comparisons, and buyers' guides around. That was quite a long time ago...

I'll never buy/drive another Honda after having to deal with daughter's 2010 Civic -- it (when she traded it in after college graduation) was on its 4th paint job after the notorious Honda black oxidizing paint and dry rotted weatherstripping...

13 mpg city???? No thanks Honda.
And 29mpg hwy, not likely for a Ridgeline, I believe the they are now rated at 24hwy, they also have the fuel economy figures for the hybrid backwards. The Maverick also scored lower with the reliabilty rating which is not established yet being a new model.

I suspect CR has a few oil industry folks on its board.

Maybe lower MPG = good, for them... never a mention of the environment in connection with efficiency either, just $$.
