If this isn't fixed I wont take my Mav after i order it,. This is NUTS. Not acceptable. Having to pound down on the brakes at slow speed like at a drive through food pace is insane to accept. I will be watching these forums if this isn't fixed in 6 months i am out. What the heck FORD?
I don't blame you. The problem on my truck (now at about 5k miles) just seems to get worse. Some people think it's design, some software. If it's a design flaw, I highly doubt your truck would be different. If it's software, perhaps theres a fix for all of us. On top of that, I now have to take it in for a recall fix so my engine doesn't catch on fire.

Hoping mine goes for a few years and then jumping to Toyota that seems to have some good things in the works. Will absolutely never buy a Ford again. And my first two cars were Mustangs so Im not just hating to hate.

Wish I had access to a service manual on this car. I would like to see how they have the brakes setup on it,. It sounds like the regen braking is messing up,. if that is the case I would think turning all regen braking off at low speeds wouldn't be that hard. Plus have very little effect on charging up the battery. Hopefully in the next month or two they will have it solved. i don't want the vehicle if they say aw that is good enough.

I have this problem also in my hybrid. It is obviously a problem due to switching between regen braking and hydraulic at very low speeds. I have adapted to this, but it is still annoying. I had a Honda hybrid and the braking was indistinguishable from regular hydraulic braking - so it is possible to make the hand-off smooth. This is the only complaint I have with this truck = otherwise it has been great. I assume that Ford will eventually come up with a fix.

Turn the auto brake hold off. That fighting goes away the ecoboost does the same with light brake pressure it's in-between off and on at low speed grips ungrips.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter whether auto hold is on or off. It behaves the same in both modes.

Interesting to hear you have the same problem. Appreciate you taking the time to report the problem. Unnerving is probably the best way to describe it.
I'm having the same problem with my Maverick with 3500 miles on it definitely not happy with this brake problem, I have an appointment next Tuesday the 6th at the dealer and have them inspect the brakes one more time

Hi there. This gear-switching concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I have the same issue, and it's looking like this may be a widespread phenomenon. Ford, if you would like my vehicle info as well, I'd be happy to send it to you.

I'm planning on ordering a 23 hybrid asap but this brake issue has me concerned. What I don't understand is that the guts of the Maverick hybrid are the same as the Escape hybrid. Is this brake issue also present in the Escape? If not, what is the difference? This doesn't make any sense if the Escape system is trouble-free.

I can't speak to the Escape question, but bear in mind that many Mavericks are also trouble-free...perhaps most. I for one had the "sudden jolt" experience a few times in the early going, but it hasn't repeated in months now. Even when it did, it was never more than a minor hiccup. And I drive in a lot of stop and go traffic. So there must surely be a "fix" to provide relief to those with an ongoing problem....it just needs to be taken seriously by Ford.

Just experienced this at work parking lot when slow creeping to a empty parking slot. Very loud and sounded like something broke. Scared the sh*t out of person next to my truck. Month old hybrid Lariat with 1,469 miles on the gauge. Not the first time but it seems getting worse every time it happens.

Exactly what my issue is. Seems to be pretty loud from outside of the truck.

For me, the clunk occurs when I have the hillside brake assist button on. It's like the truck thinks I've stopped but then change my mind at last moment (which actually is what is happening for me).
