A dealer not doing the COVP...
Ford using the Covp To save our place in line when we re order MY23. Why the hell would Ford only use A COVP to save our place in line. Why would they not come out and say "hey maybe your truck that you ordered on 10/29/21 isn't scheduled or built because your dealer didn't do a covp?!? Basically I'm coming to terms with the fact that I will not have a place in line and I'd be crazy to re order the Maverick.
☆☆The Ford Maverick nightmare continues! I made my weekly call to Ford to check on status. Of course they said same thing as last week. It will be a 2023 MY not 22. No problem, but I started asking questions about how ford was securing our "place in line" they said it was based on COVP. So that said I called my dealer. The only Ford dealer close to me is in Monticello NY... I asked about the covp to which he replied "I didn't do a COVP on any of my Maverick orders" .... my heart sank for the 20th time during this last 9 month roller coaster wait for my truck to be built or scheduled, or ANYTHING! So I explained to him that if I have no COVP, then if I re order on 8/2, I am at the back of the line again and lose my spot. Dealer tried talking his way put of this... asked to ca me back, and we got off the phone. He called back 20 min later stating the covp site has been down since February. But out of all the Maverick orders he put in with no covp, he did get one. (Not buying it) I said cancel the order...I'm done with the roller coaster ride. He asked for a couple days to work on "getting me back into the system" so I'm giving him that. BUT in the meantime, I have hyundai dealer meeting set up after that couple of days... they have them in stock, it's a couple thousand more than the Maverick but at this point my sanity is worth the extra money. No way will I re order a 2023 model and get back in line for another 9, 10, 15 ... ... month wait.

Just letting you know what Maverick support told me when I called and they confirmed I had one. You can check on it or not. That's up to you. However they could have been wrong, and COVP makes more sense.

Without a COVP as far as Ford is concerned you never had an order placed. So your dealer is either clueless or shady. As I understand it they were requiring this to prevent dealers from placing retail orders for fake customers.

Your dealer saying they didn't do COVP on any Maverick orders sounds really shaky. Did you talk to salesperson or sales manager?

I'm not sure what the difference is between ROVP and COVP, but I've seen sources say they are the same thing. Maybe just different terminology.

Sorry, but chat/bot gave you bad info. ROVP required for completed Maverick order has been discussed extensively on here. Ford even put out a mass communication announcing the date of cutting off orders for ECO boost version and specifying completed ROVP process was neccessary to have valid order. I don't have it in front of me but IIRC the cutoff date was maybe Jan 28 for confirmed orders and no more orders at all after Feb 3rd? You can probably search forums here and come up with the full story.

Same thing happened to me on my Oct 9th 2021 order. Ford nor the dealer has done anything to help or even look into my order. I received the confirmation email from Ford then 8 months later Ford says they have ZERO history that I ever placed an order. My dealer has told me multiple lies. Ford wouldn’t allow me to send in my emails from Ford as evidence and said they couldn’t investigate an order that doesn’t exist. Tim Bartz read about me and said they likely didn’t complete the ROVP so technically I never had an order. I had called Ford multiple times months prior and supposedly all was good with my order. If there was a problem with ROVP Ford should have reached out to me and at a minimum sent a notification that my order was cancelled since they DID send a confirmation email. Anyhow I’m going to have to start from scratch with a MY23 order. I’ll get no private offer. I’ll pay more for a MY23. I’ll start behind other MY22 orders. It’s messed up. So. I’m in the same boat as you.

The dealers that didn't do COVP/ROVP for the past year on all the required models will probably be the dealers closing soon. If they never successfully order for retail orders and cant get stock units with the plan for EVs to sell separate of dealers soon they wont survive much longer.
