I am planning on ordering a Maverick as soon as I can later this year. I was slow out of the gate and missed my opportunity this year. Orig. I was told that they would start accepting orders in August 2022 for a 2023 veh. Now my dealer is saying that they may not be accepting orders at that time if at all. I find this hard to believe but does anyone else have ANY idea when this might open up? Anyone have any good word?

No one knows what Ford will do, even they don't seem to know themselves.

What I and many ppl learned from the past 8 months is: go order from a few big dealerships in your area when the system opened. Accept the 1st order that come in and the dealer/Ford can deal with the rest, not your problem.

I'd love to skipped the whole dealership experience if I could but they forced me.

I’ve reached out to several dealers. One in CO where I live currently and one in CA where I am moving. Both agreed to take deposits and place orders for me when the window opens at MSRP. Just keep looking until you find one.

I am ordering a MY 2023 Lariat Hybrid whenever ordering opens up. I can't even believe I'm saying that outloud 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ after the process of ordering last Oct (about to be delivered). We couldn't order a hybrid we wanted, it was past the cut off supposedly. We will then decide which to keep, Lariat hybrid or EB XLT Lux.

They way things are going w Ford it wouldn't surprise me if ordering didn't open Aug 16. I don't believe they can even build any MY 2023 during 2022 with all the orders they have yet to fulfill. Hopefully new colors come out, green 🤞🏻 and trim levels etc. get streamlined (3 levels, no add ons on the line only at dealership Acura style takes 4 weeks for order). The production line will need re-tooling plus I believe at Christmas they take a break. Which is think is better for efficiency and fairness... let the ordering system populate thru fall, organize supply and set in place in Winter, come Jan regroup, open and do this in a more organized fashion w 2 week runs of trim levels. Atleast the next time we order we are not in the same situation of 1 car for 2 adults and can wait out management issues 😁

Also make sure to plan on waiting till summer 2023 or later...

Thanks everyone. The main concern I had was that I wouldn't be able to order this year for a MY 23. I guess I will have to play it by ear

The MY23 ordering window has been scheduled by Ford to open August 16,2022. That is always subject to change, but it has been published as such for now.

Can’t speak to the information your dealer gave you, but if they are saying that I would be looking for a new dealership now.

Where in CA? Find a big dealership with farmers - they have larger allotments.

WORD OF ADVICE... DONT DO OT !!! Just read some threads and you will see why. Going to be blissfully happy in my new Santa Cruz next week... and the process only took me 6 days to own it "let's go ford"

Much Much later.... 2024 is more realistic. I don't believe they will clear up all of the 2022 orders in 2023. ... yes other (all) companies are experiencing supply chain issues, but there's plenty of shiney new cars/trucks on lots out there. I'll never consider buying another Ford in my lifetime
