Inflation continues on XL prices.

Since I ordered an XL on 9/20/22, the base price has gone up by $1,620. The shipping charge went up by $100. So in a little over 16 months, the XL has seen a $1,720 increase. Been waiting for 489 days now.

Similar anecdote: the first year the Grand Cherokee came out, it was a corker! But, my wife and I decided to wait a year until we could better afford it. The next year the base price went up $3,500. Addendum: we never got a Grand Cherokee.

The XLT hybrid I ordered in October 2021 has FINALLY been built and is being shipped. Unless I get ’23 AND ’24 price protection I’m walking away in spite of waiting over 2 years. I’m not Happy.

who is your dealer….i ordered approximately the same time and a eco boost lariat arrived and didnt take and a lariat hybrid i took delivery in june….i also ordered 2 more, 24 tremor xlt which was at the dealer in late December i didnt take and a 24 lariat hybrid i havent heard much about….doesnt seem your dealer has too many allocations…

Ford needs to get it together! The economy is fantastic and the only things that have gone up in $ last 3 years are Mavericks!

Yes, I knew the dealer did not have many allocations, but I wanted to buy locally where I would get the vehicle serviced.

Yes, I knew about that, but the offer does not cover the increases as you stated. For other models the offer was much closer to actually covering the price increases.

Very true. I was so glad I had a $3400 offer on my stock XLT Hybrid.

I ordered my '23 XL Hybrid about the same time you did and picked it up on 10/2/23. Salesman never told me to change it to an ecoboost, but he did contact me at some point and tell me if I dropped the hitch receiver it might speed up the build process. I did that and although I got my truck, I don't know if it helped or not.

I also dropped the hitch on my XLT Hybrid hoping to get it built faster. I ordered mine in September of 22, was rolled over to a 24 and took delivery of it December 2. I still have mixed feelings about dropping the hitch but probably never would have towed anything.

Speaking of dropping the tow hitch, my dealer had a new 2024 maverick eco I was interested in but no tow hitch. Asked what it would cost to add one, said they would send it out to be done for over $1400! Called the company they send it to and was quoted over $1500! Watched videos of after market installs and it was quite a lot of labor. Not something I want to tackle! Heck, I installed the hitch on my 2015 Forester my self in under 3hrs. The wiring harness was tucked inside the side panel. How simple and this on a vehicle not meant to be a tow vehicle!
