I'm confused - how is 3% under invoice over MSRP?
I'm confused - how is 3% under invoice over MSRP?
I’m guessing their invoice price minus 3% is now greater than their originally ordered MSRP?
Chapman has added in their emails that they don’t price protect with the 3% off.

*Our pricing program under invoice will not be combined with any manufacturer price protection programs…the POC/DORA may not be the final invoice price & only an estimate based on the current pricing guide from Ford/Stellantis…Ford/Stellantis occasionally has price increases during the course of production…once the vehicle lands on the ground, we will provide you a copy of the invoice from Ford/Stellantis & will honor our % under invoice in this email thread.*

Can someone who has purchased from them recently please clarify what your original 3% under invoice cost was vs what you paid when the order came in?

I'm having a problem with them. Ordered my BS in January at 3

My experience so far, They had this same offer when I ordered my BS in January. Now that it has arrived at the Dealership they want me to pay over MSRP and when I asked about the 3% under invoice and price protection they said They don't do price protection and that what I have to pay for the car is 3% under "THEIR INVOICE", at the time of my order. I'm wondering how "their invoice" differs from the Ford invoice they sent me when I ordered? And why am I just now hearing about it?
Anybody else having or had problems with Chapman Ford of Horsham? Also wondering about their other dealerships in a 60 mile radius or so, Ford or one of the other brands?

It's not looking good but I'll try for some clarification tomorrow. I'm also not getting any clear info from them on how I'm to get my $1000 order incentive. How have others received theirs? $1000 off at time of payment a check from the dealer or Ford at that time? I don't want to be leaving the dealership with a "the checks in the mail story" only to find out later that it should have been deducted from my total at the time of my purchase and there is nothing that can be done now.
My order was 7/14/21 and delivered 5/29/22. It was 4% under invoice at order time. In December I inquire about the price increase, I have an email that stated not to worry. Get my Maverick deliver and yes it was 4% under invoice, but FINAL invoice. It was $800 more than initial order, but less than original MSRP. Somehow I did get the 1.9% for 60 months.
My theory and understanding is that Ford gives the dealer the difference between the new price and the order price, that is Price Protection. Since they gave me the original financing not the delivery financing, I am GUESSING, the did not only charge me the extra $800, but the also pocketed the money from Ford for the original order amount. This is only speculation and I have no proof.

I paid 4% under FINAL invoice. It was $800 extra, but still under original MSRP. Still a good deal, but it is the principle of it. With so many Ford dealers close to me, it is a bad PR decision. If I would have known from the beginning, I could have opted to keep my order or order from another dealership with 10yr/150k powertrain warranty (with the hybrid seems like the better deal).

I don't see how these two things are related - the price protection and the deal. The price protection is from Ford themselves, the under invoice deal is from Chapman. Those two things should not be mutually exclusive.

I was told at time of my Bronco Sport Badlands order, in January, that I would get 3% below the invoice price at the time of my order, and they provided me with the then invoice pricing. In the mean time, the MSRP of the Badlands has gone up 2K!!!! So, what they are now doing, is supposedly telling people, at the time of order, that they will get 3% off of the delivered invoice. Which, of course really means you don't know what you will be paying, at delivery, when you order. I don't call that price protection. The reason they gave for this is Ford owes them $100,000 in price protection!!! As many of you probably know, Ford is supposed to compensate the dealers for the difference, in price when ordered and the price at delivery. That's their price protection. So, 3% below current invoice + a previously unmentioned tax/fee of $456 adds up to $791.66 over the then MSRP. $37,230 vs 37,921.66 current 3% below invoice.
Not sure what the Tax/fee is, as I have to pay Va. Title tax so it shouldn't be what ever Pa. residents have to pay as a sales or title tax. Invoice on my car at time of order was $36,004.80. Allowing for some rounding my price, including the $456 mystery fee/tax should be $35,416 and not the $37,921.66 they now say I owe them!!!

Based on the wording of the email disclaimer I believe you can choose to purchase at the orginal MSRP and get price protection.
I certainly wouldn’t be happy if I were in your shoes either.

I don't think I ever received that disclaimer.

I know you've got numbers in this post but I need an itemization please.

What was the invoice amount when you ordered?
What was the invoice amount when it was delivered?
What was your total BEFORE tax that you are being told the price is?

Is that $456 the dealer fee and lot/gas tax thing? That's on every order.

You should contact Ford chat today (or reach out to Chapman, as several orders before and after yours reported getting scheduled just this week...
So according to Ashlie and the screen grab she sent me…I am scheduled for 9/5. I have seen and heard nothing from Ford though and we have all seen people get a build date and have it get pushed. So, we will see.
I am hopeful though!

The 1/28/22 is the price sheet, I was given an asked to sign and return at the time of my order. Mind, they told me the price was 3% under invoice at the time of my order. The picture of my computer screen, is the best breakdown I have been able to get From them, the price I am now expected to pay.!! If any other information is not clear, I’ll do the best I can, to show or explain.

@Bluebaru

So your current deal is still $3,000 below current MSRP. But you're saying you should be paying 3% below the invoice amount of $36,004.80 which would be $34,924.66. It looks like your current deal is a price protected deal and not a 3% under deal.

Price protection: $37,230
3% under CURRENT invoice (per their sheet): $36,921
3% under original DORA: $34,924.66

Problem is, the original DORA states clearly it is "not an invoice".

I get being pissed that you're paying $36,921 instead of $34,924.. but there's not a lot you can do. Ultimately you are walking away with a BS Badlands for $3,000 off MSRP in a market where - if you can find one at all - it's likely marked up $5,000. It's still a great deal, but the BS Badlands had an unusual price spike between your order and your delivery. If you want the thing, you should buy it. You'll still have instant equity.
