I have been seen posts on this forum that states that with Google Maps on the screen (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay) that the display you show is not visible.

Some use Android Auto / Apple Car Play, and the temp will not be displayed on the screen, so sometimes it's best to be upset when you get shafted and call it for what it is.

Not quite true.

If you have your phone connected through Sync, you can get back to this screen through the app. It wasn't intuitive, but I can get there now with minimal effort. I can post a video later showing how it's done.

Also, if you have Carplay or AA on, when you change the temp, a pop-up shows up on the screen that shows the temp setting, just like when you change the volume.

All that to say, you don't 'need' access to this screen to change the temp, or to see what it is set at.

Could you do this?

  • Keep your current truck right up until you buy the new one.
  • Go to Carvana, get your quote and the offer to buy. Should be good for 7 days.
  • Don't sell them the truck just yet.
  • Go get your new truck.
  • Swap out the controls while you have both vehicles in your possession.
  • Now now sell your first truck to Carvana.
  • Apply the proceeds to any outstanding loan amount you might have, if any..
  • ?
I will be testing the 2020 2021 Ford Escape AC Heater Temperature Control Unit OEM unit when it arrives in my current 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid.

If it works then my plan is this:

1. Order a new MY23 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid with Co-Pilot360 + 110V/400W Outlet in Cab + Trailer Hitch in Eruption Green on Aug 2nd when order banks open

2. When I have a scheduled build date I will sell my current MY22 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid to Carvana and share my wife's 2009 Honda CR-V until delivery of my new MY23 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid. I did the same with my previous 2015 Honda Fit Ex when I ordered the MY22 Maverick

3. When the new maverick is delivered I will use the proceeds from the Carvana sale to pay for the new Maverick

I do have a loan on my current 2022 Ford Maverick and the reason is that it is a 0% loan for 36 months. I could have paid fully in cash but I am earning interest (currently 1.6%) on the cash while paying no interest on the loan.

When I am ready to sell to Carvana I will pay off the remaining balance and get the title.

On 7/1/2022 Carvana is offering me $34,294 for my current Maverick. That is $8,226 over my out-the-door price of $26,068.

Even if Carvana's offer drops by $3,226 I will still get a brand new MY23 Maverick and reduce the purchase price by $5,000.

I have an XLT without the LUX package so I do not have SYNC.

I think the temp readout is still on the 8" screen which, of course, is still much less convenient but there. If I had my druthers I would vote to keep it but Ford never called me for my opinion so now I must live without it. :ROFLMAO: :D
I came here to find out if that is true. I drive the Ford CMAX for work, and that's where it shows when I reach over and adjust the temp, which is fine by me, I'm accustomed to seeing it there. Great, thanks for confirming that it does still display.

Not that I am worried about it but very curious if a retro fit of an older control panel will indeed work
I’m sure I’ll be fine with whichever way it works since I set it and forget it
But if I can see the temp for the price of a part I wouldn’t mind having it

That part you bought looks like it is in pretty rough shape. You're going to put that in a new truck?

I mean to each their own but I think having inactive buttons (for heated seats) would be a bigger deal to me. I also want the temp readouts on the dials, so I'll probably end up spending more for the best condition/new Maverick unit I can find.
But two please- I am in need as well :)

That's not exactly true. Unfortunately I set the AC/Heat to what I feel when I get in the truck (I'm freezing, turn the heat way up; I'm hot, turn the AC way down). Unfortunately I don't notice the temp inching up/down until I'm either sweltering or freezing. Setting it to a specific temp will blast the AC/Heat for a short period then adjust as the cabin gets close to the desired temp.

I didn't get the truck for the digital knob, but I thought it was REALLY cool/useful, and I was really looking forward to it. My wife's had it for years, and I love it on hers. I get that I can see it on the screen when I turn the knob, but it's not the same.

Am I pissed? Not really. Am I disappointed? Yeah.

What I would like to know is if the elimination of the digital temp display on the a/c dial is just the most obvious sign that the automatic electronic temp control a/c has been replaced with manual a/c. The automatic a/c has sun and temp sensors to keep the temp at the temp set on the knob. The manual a/c just allows the temp to be set warmer or cooler, but does not maintain a set temp. Thus, there would be no need for a digital readout.
The Maverick order guide and brochure says that XL and XLT models only get the manual a/c, so maybe somebody at Ford realized they are delivering more than promised in the XL and XLT, and decided they are now only to produce to specs.

Folks get used to this. These kinds of running changes and deletions are extremely common and you better expect quite a few more as we go forward.

Nice to see the push start at a reasonable height instead of in the footwell of the Maverick :)
