OMG who cares. If you wanted a luxury vehicle, you should have bought one. This vehicle is Ford's attempt to produce another people's car for the masses. It's NOT a smaller version of the F150.

Sorry, I'm just upset about my stereo purchase. I picked up this Magnavox system at Walmart, and it didn't sound like this $364,000.00 McIntosh Reference System. I called Magnavox and asked them if I was missing any components.

I guess I should have said that in my previous post, but I was afraid it would make me sound like I don't understand the difference between product levels.

WOW! Even the people's car for the masses, the Volkswagen Bug had rubber pedals. :)

Not picking up what frequency you are on- but whatever floats - 1st road trip in this puppy- Loaded/Lariat/FX4 is a pretty sweet rig and it aint cheap @ 36k but I think its still a great value at that price point- I have nothing against plastic but more of the design and angle of the pedal- So a pedal cover will be coming soon- Surprised no one else really mentioned this and the rear seat belts are hard to buckle with a kids booster seat- Just saying

Plastic is disrespected way too often these days. Thermoplastics and composites can actually outperform steel and aluminum in a lot of applications. Longer lasting, lighter, stronger, cheaper. They're starting to take over cars because they're such a no-brainer.
Truth. My hockey sticks used to have aluminum shafts. Now they're composite, or plastic. They last longer, are lighter and provide much better feel.

And even building code is changing so that they can use PVC or ABS pipes instead of cast iron. If you ever see a crew replacing water main piping, it's PVC or ABS, not cast iron anymore.

Plastic gets a bad rep but it's got its place in a lot of things. An accelerator pedal? Fine by me.

One of the funnier gripes I've seen for sure. Maybe in the winter I'll notice something when my feet are wet but I highly doubt it.

Thx-

Always a pleasure to hear you chime in- I have no issue with plastic- Its awesome, my post was directed at a possible missing piece/etc- Appreciate the info from other users in reference and it has nothing to do with cost-

Must be nice to think 30k is easy money. Some of us peasants think this is a major life purchase. But thanks for sticking your nose up at us.

There are cars setting in the junk yard for 40 years and none of them have there brake or gas pedals rust away. Place an aluminum and composite bat in the sun and come back in 20 years and see which one you would want to use. Maybe the Maverick should have a plastic hood also. :)
