You see that ignore button? Use it. You don't get to tell me to stop expressing anything. I don't care what you think a Maverick is worth or if you're stupid enough to pay it, which many seem to be. But I know what Ford thinks its worth, and it is extremely obvious what price point Ford had in mind while building it. So I'll keep discouraging people from throwing absurd money at a budget vehicle.

Get over it. It's business. Dealers ain't the red cross.
A forced monopoly created by government regulations that we, the people, can and should repeal. Usually with a business you can simply say "I choose not to do business with you", but when you have laws preventing manufacturers from selling directly to you, there is no other way to buy a Ford without paying that unnecessary middle-man.

Hopefully consumers that don't hate themselves and aren't just dealership employees defending their practice pulling a "hey fellow kids" on us will see that and this can be the catalyst for fixing the laws and abolishing an outdated business model.

Reminds me of when people were buying toilet paper and masks at massive markups from scalpers. Then again, when the public is stirred into a frenzy and thinks that something will always increase in price, you get these freakish bubbles as we've seen with housing where dilapidated poverty level homes were selling for a million dollars or even things with obviously little value like beanie babies that were supposed to sell for just $5 MSRP but because people thought their resale value would also be so high would gladly pay $1000 or more figuring they can get just as much if not more back. People aren't very rational.

I remember that stupid beanie baby bullshit. People going nuts over a stupid toy made in a Chinese sweat shop/factory for .5 cents each. ID10Ts thinking they were gonna bankroll their retirements with the damn things 🤣🤣🤣

And this is why people need to just walk away from dealers that are gouging the price. If you gotta have it that badly and cant stand not having one, just like the .5 cent beanie baby selling for $1,000, then you pay it, and deal with the buyers remorse thats sure to come.

I can tell you this, I wouldent pay a $5,000 to $10,000 mark up on an entry level cheap compact pickup. Not that I'm a cheap ass by nature, but I have other places I want/need to spend my money.

Hell, I wouldent have went with an XLT if the Granger deal didnt come along. I was fully prepared to buy an XL AWD with a trailer hitch, full size spare, and in cab power inverter. Nothing else. Slap a set of rims on it, add a tonneau cover, and a bed mat, add some aftermarket cruise control and done.

The XLT step up gave me cruise control (easily hacked I found out later) nicer seat covers, that porta potty grey interior accent which I kinda like, along with the orange which I really like, though some people seem to hate it for some reason. The automatic locking tailgate, again easily hacked in, plus some other niceties. So I'm gonna roll with it. The $3000 off let me do the XLT for the same amount of cash I would have spent on an XL.

All I can say is, big markup = walk away. Let them keep it. Do an internet hunt. Theres always a better deal. Just like beanie babies ain't worth spit now, the maverick market will correct itself once theres enough of these damn things out there. Then the prices will be at MSRP, or under when theres enough of em on the lot that the dealers cant get rid of them.

FYI the things to hoard, and not necessarily in that order. Not an all inclusive list

1. In good times, gold, and silver bullion. Include coins. See #2.

2. In downturn times, trade that for antique cars and Rolex watches. Coins might be keepable (intrinsic value)

3. SHTF times, food, guns, ammunition, alcohol, salt, antibiotics, and soap. (Gold and cash wont be worth spit)

A lot of flippers are buying up any new vehicles and selling them as used to dealers that can't get stock to put on their lots. For a tidy profit of course.

So this is a used truck? Had to have been titled to original buyer? Carvana offered me 7K more than I paid. Carvana selling them to dealers?
The eco boost is selling more slowing here than the hybrid models Hybrids are snapped up and the eco boost sets a little long on the lot One local dealer had 4 ecos on the lot each about 10K over sticker I am worried because the MY22 assembly line should be retooled at the end of august What happens to us Class action maybe or will orders be honored on MY23 at MY22 prices

Had a new Maverick Lariat pop up on my phone from a dealer. They were only asking $49k for it.

On a vehicle this new, any new MY retooling in august will likely be limited to minor things like paint color changes, a different rim design or 2. Different programming, and im guessing maybe cruise control availability on XL as an option. 2 weeks tops clean up and ready for 2023.

It does list a 100 YEAR 100000 mile warranty, as well as front and rear anti-roll bars. Also a 100% price match guarantee. love to see the fine print on that. LOL
I test drove a car from there years ago and laughed at the salesman when he tried to sell me on the 100 year/100,000 mile warranty. He really thought that was a major deal.

Price match guarantee? Someone send me a super good deal on a used XL.

What really grinds my gears is seeing dealers that have gamed the system, and are selling USED Mavericks with like 15 miles for 10K plus over MSRP. Seems highly likely some of these dealers had employees and/or family members order new Mavericks, then immediately sell them right back to the dealer so they could mark them up and make a substantial profit under the radar of Ford's corporate gaze. (Something to be aware of @Ford Motor Company, not that I expect anything is really going to change in the near future.)

Crestview Ford in Florida is doing that very thing right now with both a Maverick XLT ($11.6K markup), a Mustang Mach-e GT ($16.5k markup), a Bronco Wildtrack ($17k markup), and a F-250 Lariat ($25.4k markup). All have less than 100 miles on the odometer according to the website listing, in most cases, less than 20 miles, yet they are listed as USED.

As so many real customers are waiting on their orders to be built by Ford, it is utter BS that dealers are getting away with these actions that are taking production capacity away from paying customers that have been patiently waiting for many months, in some cases more than a year.

I love my Maverick. I love the Mustang Mach-e. I love the 750% profit I made on Ford stock back during the recession. I love that Ford did not accept bailout money during that time. But the greedy actions of dealers with their unspoken ADMs (until the last minute) and excessive Doc Fees ($995 in some cases) is really souring me on the Ford brand lately. Luckily though there is no other brand with a lineup that can compare to the Maverick AND Mach-e.
Apparently, someone traded or sold their hybrid with 9000 miles on it to the local Chevrolet dealer. Not sure about options but the dealer has it listed for $45K. It doesn't grind my gears at all because it is a free market...and I am free to walk away and let it sit until they lower their price or someone decides it is worth what they are asking for it.

9000 miles is a true used car that was traded in. A “used“ car with only 14 miles likely never left the dealer’s lot after arriving.
