i def. I dont NEED it. and the 4k over won't hurt the bank, if anything the payment will be lower since I'm trading in a more expensive car (2022 santa cruz) but i would be trading all the bells and whistles for great MPG. I drive a lot and would really benefit from the hybrid compared to my 22 mpg santa cruz AWD turbo. Just paying more money than what the car is actually worth is a hard pill to swallow.
Any item for sale, whether it's a truck, jewelry, artwork, stock or house, is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

So the question is are you willing to pay the markup? If the answer is yes, then pull the trigger. If the answer is no, then don't.

A few occasional glitches with the center display/radio, and some weird occasional 'grabbing' on the brakes at low speed, seem to be the only complaints common enough to be considered 'universal' problems. Nothing major really.
Ever since I plugged in my phone and got Android Auto going, I haven't had the issue with the clock resetting. At low speed, yeah, the brakes are strange. It feels similar to what happens when the ABS engages on other vehicles. But it's really not that big of a deal. You get used to it and it only happens at low speeds.

Do the math, figure out how much you drive and how much you'll save on gas between what you're driving now and the Maverick Hybrid. Then figure out how long it would take to save the $4k by using less fuel.
I like telling people who ask me why I'm still driving around a gas chugging V8 Mustang when I can afford an EV that I can buy 5,000 gallons of gas for $30K and that will get me 90,000 miles at 18 mpg.

How much less is the Maverick at 4k ADM than the Santa Cruz? It might be worth it.

If you absolutely *need* (and by need, i don't mean "I NEED this car as a weekend car!") this truck, i would recommend negotiating to sticker price or maybe 1-2K over sticker. Otherwise, if you can wait, wait for MY23.

What you are describing sounds like regen braking, doesn't use the physical brakes under light braking, it instead uses the electric motor in reverse to slow the car down and regain some of the electric charge.

In Auto Racing, there is an old saying: "Speed costs money. How fast can you afford to go?"

What you would be paying $4K more for is to move to the front of the line. I've been waiting since September. Many here have been waiting longer. I have a build date of week of June 13. Maybe that will happen, maybe it gets pushed back. Then 4-8 weeks shipping. So ten months maybe wait. But I should be paying MSRP, since it is in writing.

YOU could wait like what - a week ? But it will cost your $4K more. On that truck maybe it's a 13-14% mark up. Think of it like VIP tour at a Disney World. Front of the line the entire day baby - while others wait. Which - coincidentally - costs an extra $4K(for up to a party of 10)

So you could pay the extra $4K and have a truck you want now. Or you can wait until August when orders open up for 2023 and maybe you would have a truck 6-7 months from now at MSRP. And probably the 2023's will be at bit more expensive, though I would not be surprised if Ford finds a way to hold the base truck price to $20K just for advertising purposes and media headlines.

Whatever you do you should just make sure it is the RIGHT decision for YOU. Because either taking this deal or waiting six months are both perfectly valid decisions.

BTW, I would not hold much hope in getting the dealer to take much less. Dealers are easily getting this much and more of a premium. And the truck you are looking at is particularly desirable, since the luxury package on the XLT is constrained (short supply)

Hi everyone! Im new to the group and would like some advice. I just got a call yesterday saying a customer order didn’t go through for a maverick hybrid XTL with luxury package. The hybrids are extremely hard to get right now. They are doing a 4k markup! Do you think it’s worth the mark up or should I just wait it out? I just don’t know if I want this opportunity to slip since I don’t know when I will be able to get a hold on another hybrid. So my question is would you pay the 4k mark up or is that just crazy talk?! Lol thanks!
I paid $3000 over for an EB Lariat with Lux, unique wheels and off road package. They wanted $8k over at first.

I wanted a Maverick and didn’t want to wait for a year or longer, so I went for it.

Also, aren’t half the 2022 orders getting pushed back into 2023? That will extend it even longer if so.

Good luck to you if you decide to go ahead with your purchase. Believe me, you surprised a lot of people with the certificate you posted . . . me included! I was pleased with the $500 military reduction I received and am excited for your find! Hope it all works out for you.

By the way, what color is it? You never did give the full details. Thanks.
Thanks man I appreciate that. It’s a xtl, velocity blue with Lux package.

If I trade in my car I will have about $1500 of positive equity. So my car payment will actually be a little less with a shorter term. But I would be letting go of all the premium features on my Santa Cruz, which I’m not too worried about to be honest. (Sun roof, back sliding window, push to start, wireless charging etc.

If I didn’t need a truck i would buy a Toyota Corolla Hybrid - 50 MPG and a bike rack and your all set. Under 25K and will last forever.

Well, it seems like the Maverick is a win for you then.

Well there's 17 pages of folks that have experienced this issue and to each of them I'm sure it's not rare or being blown out of proportion! Just along the lines of the fuel tanks with possible holes drilled into them. It's a safety concern that needs to be addressed by Ford sooner rather than later. There's obviously a manufacturing issue with the vendor that's supplying these cables. Ford needs figure how many are substandard and how many could possibly be out in the wild. I've only heard of one case of an animal chewing wires, of course there could be more, but that's not a manufacturing problem, crappy soldering is!

I called a few dealers in December to see if I could get the Eco for MSRP and one agreed so I ordered from him. I would call dealer until one agrees. If you could save 4K its worth it to travel for the truck to another state.
