They weren't saying that they will need to order another one, they said they will need to update the 22 order. Which is true, there may be some changes to packages and any 22 order that gets transferred to a 23 will need to be update to 23MY specifications with new ROVP paperwork on the 23 order.

Wouldn't it be prudent to just order a new 2023 model in August then wait till this one happens? This order was for an EB, which was all that was available, would prefer the Hybrid. Maybe they will honor their 3k off MSRP? Doesn't seem likely though.

It's Grainger Ford in Iowa, seem to have good reputation. I put the order in when they were offering 3k under MSRP and could only order the EcoBoost.

Yeah, well known dealer with a good rep, far as I know.

I would dig in a little deeper with them, to see what they want to do, and why.

I just got this notice from the dealer. I ordered back in January. This was for an XLT Ecoboost build. Before giving up is there someone at Ford I could deal with regarding this?

This means your order will be moved into the front when they begin manufacturing the 2023s. That isn't all bad as you will get all of the improvements to fix the little bugs that the first year production standards created as well as you will get all of the new and improved safety stuff and operational improvements. The only negative is it will take longer to get your new Maverick, it will probably cost a few hundred dollars more, but it should be an improvement over the 2022. I have a 2022 Maverick and I am line to order a 2023.

exactly. there is a process for that rather than placing a new order. The dealer is probably trying to get an extra truck out of this.

Pretty sure they stated they will honor it for 2023 carryover, that thread is super long but that is where you'll find your answer (and can ask them directly if not).

I'm guessing you're probably further down the list as well, and they are likely just reading the tea leaves so to speak.

If they make changes to the Luxury Package they will give a credit.
Example-
On the Bronco Wildtrak in 2021 the hardtop was standard, in 2022 it was not standard, so they made the standard Wildtrak $695 less and if you added the optional hardtop it would be the same price as the standard 2021.

Hey Tim,

If a roll over requires new ROVP requirements, do we have to sign / provide a DL again ? Can this be used as leverage to keep a dealer wanting to add ADM after a huge wait from getting a vehicle to mark up ?

First dealer that I ordered from has been awful, the salesman I was friends with is gone, and when the new sales guy called he started talking about a Mandatory $999 add on. I don't want to reward them with a vehicle to mark up, I would rather it get dropped from ordering.

Yes, it is a good time to get them to show you all their Dealer Fees and get them to sign the buyers order to lock them into any add ons. They still have some leverage because you current have a 2022 order that would be looked at ahead of new 2023 orders.

They’re honoring the $3k off if your Ecoboost rolls over to MY23.
If you elect to change that order to a hybrid they likely won’t. The $3k off was specific to Ecoboost trucks.
Fwiw last year they did 3% below invoice for hybrids.

I hope you are right. The dealer was pretty darned emphatic to give up waiting and order another one in August for 2023.

Don’t give in. If nothing else your MY22 will rollover to MY23 and will have some level of price protection from Ford. (Can’t say the same about your dealership, but hopefully they will cooperate.)

If you walk they will level your order in place and sell it when it comes I. With large markup on it.
