I just got this notice from the dealer. I ordered back in January. This was for an XLT Ecoboost build. Before giving up is there someone at Ford I could deal with regarding this?

Headline is misleading. Yes, MY22 is still in production. It is likely true though that not all customers waiting on a MY22 will get scheduled and manufactured in time before the changeover to MY23.

Looks like the dealership screwed up and didn't complete the required ROVP either in time or ignored the messages from Ford that it was incomplete and the order was then flagged as unbuildable "Balanced Out".

Just another screw up by a dealer.

Tim @fordvideoguy latest Tuesday livestream talked about a customer at another dealership that told the buyer over and over again that everything on the order was fine and good but the customer kept asking and finally it became clear that the ROVP was incomplete because a signature was missing. The good news was it is now verified but the bad news is that it will not be scheduled until at least July 2022 for a September build. The original order was from 10/2021 so this dealer screwed up so that over the past 9 months this customer's order was NEVER considered for a build date.

This is just speculation on the dealer's part, by no means is this fact.....
I hope you are right. The dealer was pretty darned emphatic to give up waiting and order another one in August for 2023.

It's win win for them. If your Mav is delivered after August they get one for dealer stock. If not, they still get a sale. They may have also hoped you would just throw in the towel and purchase something else from them.

As others have pointed out, no one knows yet where the '22-to-'23 cutoff will be, not even Ford. While your dealer speculation may end up being right, he does not know that *right now*, and therefore is making his dealership look shady.

What is the local reputation of this particular dealer? If it's good, then they should be willing to work with you on converting your current order to a '23, AT THE PROPER TIME.

It's Grainger Ford in Iowa, seem to have good reputation. I put the order in when they were offering 3k under MSRP and could only order the EcoBoost.

I don’t understand, why would you have to order another one in August, shouldn’t the one you already ordered just roll over into 23?
They weren't saying that they will need to order another one, they said they will need to update the 22 order. Which is true, there may be some changes to packages and any 22 order that gets transferred to a 23 will need to be update to 23MY specifications with new ROVP paperwork on the 23 order.
