I ordered a Lux Lariat on October 24th. I checked in with my sales guy every month to see if there had been any changes. This week on June 29th, I got the same email from Ford about if they can't build my current order they'd convert it to a 2023. Today I get an email from my sales guy that I have a VIN number and a build week of August 29th. Assuming no delays, which is unlikely, I probably wouldn't take delivery until late September or early October.

I've scanned this forum and other groups and are finding people who's build dates have been delayed a month or two. If that happens with mine, I could be looking at delivery in December or even January of 2023. When I asked, they said that since mine was selected before the August 1st deadline for orders to be converted to 2023's, I'll be getting a 2022. Looks like I'll be getting one of the LAST 2022 models in Q4 of the model year I ordered. Sweet. I asked how I can push this back and their only answer was to just order a 2023 model in August at 2023 pricing and they would have no idea when I would receive it...again.

Is anyone else having this scenario play out right now where they'll be getting their very delayed 2022 in Q4? I've already waited 8mo, will be waiting another 3mo minimum, and will take delivery of a 2022 when the year is already pretty much over.

The silver lining is that you'll get the highest-refined 2022 Maverick and possibly without potential 2023 option/feature reductions.

A VIN means you're a lock for a 2022. The last day of production for MY22 is 10/21. If for some reason you don't get it until January, that would be a significant delay by transportation. I would expect it by Thanksgiving, at the very latest, and that's if they push you out to the last possible build date of this year.

You have a VIN, you get an MY22, now how long it takes to be delivered is all up the rail service.

Call Ford marketing and they can give you an approximate delivery date. I ordered my Hybrid, Lariat, Lux, Co Pilot 360 SIBL, Cyber Orange on October 26. I've never heard anything from Ford, but when I called Ford Marketing a couple of weeks ago, I found out my VIN # and Build Date of the week of 8/29. Then when I called last week the person told me my delivery date is Nov 3. I'm in Oregon and I wouldn't be surprised if I get it earlier than that.

Thanks for the info. I ordered Lariat Lux Hybrid Oct. 25th, and the first week in July found out I have a VIN, with a build date the week of 8/22. I figured if all goes well, then I should have it by early October? Didn't know I could call Ford for the estimated delivery date.

I ordered my XL hybrid July 23 2021, finally got a VIN last week but only "expectation" of a mid September build. So yes, similar circumstances for a likely Last Edition. Silver lining maybe that it escapes the recalls and other foibles of earlier iterations of the new model truck.

Pretty sure I heard someone (Tim maybe?) say you could be rolled to a 23 and place a new order then still have your 22 order be built and lose your 23 order. Now that would be a slap in the face.

Yeah the order banks start on 8/2 but they are still scheduling 22s until 8/18 so you could get scheduled after. I think you could keep the 23 but you won't get the private offer, you would pay full retail.

Hello,
I ordered My Lariat Lux on 10/23, a day before you did. With no other options. I called my salesman on July 21 to see about getting a 2023 Maverick. Because I have not received any more emails from Ford. Just assumed that I would be rolled over to 2023. He said I have a VIN and a scheduled build date of 8/29 also. I'm sure with the crazy constraint problem our build date will change, but at least we have our Vin. Congratulations!

Jim

In today's car market, I'm just happy to be getting a new vehicle at a reasonable price. A new '22 in January of '23 is the least of my concerns.

Ordered an xlt hybrid lux on 7/21. Got VIN a couple of weeks ago but no scheduled production date. Ford CS gave an “estimated” build date week of September 5 with mid-October delivery. Pretty sure they’ll be building 2023’s before I see it
