I have been unable to find so far a good picture of the back seat folded down. I’d like to see if it’s level and the gap size against the back wall. I have a golden retriever who would occupy that area and I’m afraid the actual seat may not be adequate. I use this area in my Escape now and it works well along with back area of course.

Mentioned on a Long McArthur video. The seat folds down but not flat. Removing the headrests makes it flatter but still not totally flat.

A golden retriever puppy would have a hard time behind the back seat

I don’t have a pic, but I can say the seat does not lay totally flat when pulled down.

I'll be alone in this vehicle nearly 98% of the time... those rear headrests will reside in the storage compartment below the seat... unless that takes up too much "utilitarian" space... in that case, they will be stored in the house (not garage in FL heat).

The back of the seat really isn't designed to support any cargo or pups. That fabric would get torn up pretty fast.

Thanks for the feedback. In my Escape, the headrests fold down so there is no obstruction and I use a packing blanket to cover the back side of the seat. But if not flat enough, our 65 pounder will likely roll back toward the equipment wall unless it’s covered. Looks like this is not going to be an option. I just need to see in person if the folded up seat will work. Maybe a deal breaker for me.

That seat is really not designed to be folded forwards except to access the items behind it for service. Is it a possibility that you could fold up the seats and put the puppets on a platform or do you need the 2nd row for seating others?

I have always looked for flat seats and wagons for my dogs, but I am thinking a dog hammock for the back seat with the rear up will fit my two fifty pounders. I have seen some big people sitting in that back seat- ought to be more room than needed for an 80lb dog. Take a look at the hammocks out there and how they fit. Duluth trading and Kurgo make a few I have looked at.

Plus, there are some cords under it. It is hard to teach a friend with paws that the cords are not chew toys.

That’s my photo from the trainer I saw.
If you take the headrests off, I didn’t as it was being looked at by about 50 excited people at the same time(This truck is going to SELL!), the seat will go all the way to the bottom portion but I cannot image it’ll ever be “flat.” I also assume their can be something done with the seatbelt but that’s above my pay grade.

Glad to know whose pic I stole, Google just had it here in our forum so I listed it as such.

I’m famous! Hahahaha. I was stoked to see one before getting a build date(it’s laughable now). Just confirmed my great choice of XLT trim. I figured I’d have to wait till the Texas State Fair to see one.

Good lord now I miss corn dogs and mustard. I went to seminary not far from fair park. Do they still put giant Levi’s on Big Tex?
