Don't blame the kids. Blame the patents that have them programmed to within an inch of their lives, with zero free time to be entrepreneurial, let alone to just be kids.
2-3 sports, plus tutoring, plus robotics club ... in middle school.
Parents not patents.
Which brings up a Q: is it possible to edit posts? I don't see a way (but that doesn't mean it's not there ...)

If you can see him! Yep, we got a little snow overnight!

Been a light year thus far. While I sure wasn't complaining, I had that uneasy feeling that was going to change. It did.

We need the precipitation, but I'm really getting too old for this. I have 1/3 of our drive and one of our three vehicles dug out so far, and I'm plum tuckered! Yes, I dug out the Maverick first. The others can surely wait until tomorrow. More snow expected tomorrow and next week. Glad it's a holiday weekend.

Life in the Rockies! This is why AWD FX4 was important to me. Choose your weapon according to your needs.
I feel for ya, I’m in Wheat Ridge.

I'll get thru it, eventually. Kinda like the how do you eat an elephant predicament -- a little at a time!

Bonus! More snow last night, and the county plow left another good sized berm where my drive meets the road. Just moved a huge one yesterday.

For incentive, maybe if I can get this stuff moved I can take my Maverick (with new triple flake snowflakes) out and play!!!

I have a big circle driveway, and Melvin comes and plows it with his big truck. If you have the option, get yourself a Melvin.....
I remember a Melvin being an Atomic Wedgie of Sorts...

Well to be fair, another part of it is people are cheap. Back in the 70s or 80s, you ask for like $5 to shovel someone's driveway, and most people would pay it, because what's $5 to most people. But that's nothing by modern standards.

Adjusting for inflation, you would really need to be paid like $20 now to make it comparable to what people were getting paid in the 70s. No-one wants to pay $20 or $30 for someone to shovel their driveway. I shovel my folks for free so they don't have to worry about it, never asked for money in return. But for people doing it purely as a form of making money, I understand.
