This won’t be particularly extensive (Joking). First we will get some details out of the way: XLT Ecoboost Lux CP360 Moonroof FX4 4K DIBL Full Size Spare Rear window hot pepper red. Car Now has 60 miles on it (!), and we have added RolBlokz mud guards, Lund / Ford hood protector, Ford Mats, DeeZee tailgate assist. Ordered 12/10, built and shipped on 3/25, delivered on 4/25.

  • Driving. Not much to add here that hasn’t already been covered. Our impression very positive, just a lower driving position than our Ridgeline but plenty of power and great stopping / turning. Ride is very good and since this is the wife’s car - her impression is that it is easier to drive and park, ”more fun”.
  • Quality. So time will tell - this is just early impressions. I expected a “tinny” car from reading on here and the “budget“ price point. Not so - doors and tailgate shut with a solid thud, hood is plenty beefy for such a large panel. No paint runs, we like the interior cloth and plastics (though cleaning is a question). Everything is lined up well, the only item I need to comment on is the DIBL (below).
  • Color / Paint. Hot Pepper Red was NOT my first choice, but my wife liked (we are Gators and like Orange). Seeing it for the first time - it is incredibly rich and yes orange but not a rust / drab color. In pictures and shade - it comes out as a deep red. Crazy color which we both really really like. This surprised me - in a good way.
  • DIBL. Much more low profile and better quality than the old drop ins. It is however, still just plastic panels and I’m undecided if we keep our go to a spray in at some point. Right now, perfectly functional. I have one major gripe that cost me a couple hours of work and that is the Hermosillo Plant did not cut our the panels (marked on the DIBL) for the 12V or for the bed extender. So did that today - not particularly as neat as I want it and did scuff up the under paint just a bit. C’mon - train them to do the cut outs and do it like you should , Ford!
  • Interior. We like the white plastic, and blue looks nice but is rough and will show scuffs/dirt. Need to figure how to maintain. Door won’t accept my RTIC water bottle (tall, narrow - too tall). Seats are comfortable, cloth is nice (enough) but we are not big folks (I’m 5’7” 175 and she is 5’1” and small). I can see where bigger people would want more support / firmness. We miss the armrest our Ridgeline had on the Captain’s chair. It is quiet, at least as quiet as our Ridgeline.
  • FX4/4K Package. The rims, tires, tow hooks all look great and happy with selection/upgrade. Cannot compare the rear end gearing to anything but glad to have the bigger radiator and transmission cooler. Brake controller, tow hitch, etc. all as expected - and frankly I think a great value vs. aftermarket adding on.
  • Moonroof. Nice, even has a windbreak when opened. Not too big but very very nice to have open or closed, brightens up the cabin. We waffled on this one but in the end very happy we got this added on.
  • Radio/Sync. No complaints, not an audiophile but plenty loud and clear with ok bass for our songs, and taste. We don’t blast the music so good enough. Sync is pretty simple, a little clunky but Apple Car Play works just fine. I also added our phones to Bluetooth and use that to just play music without connecting and works great. Still need to learn a bit on this, but went through menus, set lock codes, WiFi for front of house, etc. Remember - we had a 2017 AWFUL Honda system so by comparison this is the “cat’s meow” 😜
  • CP360. Side warning is clear and works great, Lane Keep assist is better than our Honda, camera is a potato camera but perfectly serviceable.
  • Lux Package. Heated Seats, and all the other little items are nice to have - and the heated seats makes my wife happy ;). The electric AND manual seats work just fine with plenty of room to position comfortably.
  • Value. Extraordinary - we ended up just over $33K with Tax, Fees and Tire Protection… and with our Trade basically had just about an even cash swap. If they can keep the pricing in this range for the whole Maverick line-up, this is the best value on the market. Likely will be helping my dad order a Hybrid this August.
  • Dealer Experience - Sawgrass Ford. This is last, but definitely not least. From beginning to end, seamless, friendly, honest, professional and fair. My wife wanted to do this alone, had visited multiple dealers and ran into some serious sleazeballs. We drove 25 south to this dealer based on a post from this forum - and could not be happier. They put our order in after spending a LOT of time trying to answer our questions. We asked to be prioritized and they moved us to highest priority. The buyers orders was clear, signed, and exactly as expected with zero fees. They kept us updated, and before we purchased we shopped our ridgeline around for Sale as well as a trade in with them. They valued our truck at fair enough trade-in, enough that with the tax savings we would have had to be lucky and work hard to gain that back in private sale (the valuation was two-weeks before delivery). It arrived on the truck morning of 4/25, they called and after talking agreed could have it ready by 4:00. We went in, sat with finance guy (paying cash+trade) and he gave us a buyers order that not only matched our exactly - no shenanigans around price increase, they dropped some of the documentation fees since we were swapping plates, etc. No pressure for warranty or others (we did buy tire protection for $250). So at end of day, they did everything right and easier. 5 stars out of 5, plus extra for treating my wife with such respect.

Not much mileage so have not really played with Drive modes (though we do like the E-Brake). Wife is getting used to Rotary dial, I like it. So overall early impressions are surprisingly positive. I really expected this to be a tier or two lower but really do not feel we compromised on anything. If I have a pause on anything it is if we can keep the cloth seats looking nice and comfortable through the life of the truck - but in the Florida heat no more burning my A** n the damn leather.

Ordered 12/5? So much for those lying bastards at Ford. First in, First out means I must have missed my build and delivery of my September 18th order.
Good luck with your Maverick…. Ford sucks

That looks sharp.

I ordered White, but that Red was 2nd. Have had several red mustangs so color change. Can't go wrong with Hot Pepper Red... though!!!

I am starting to like that Hot Pepper Red but I did order the Carbonized Gray XLT AWD Ecoboost with towing package. I ordered late as well, Dec. 27th. 2021 & I don't have any constraints like you have; Lux package and 360, so maybe I will getting mine soon. p.s. When did you get your scheduling date email?🤞

Looks great, congrat's!

Thanks for the positive review of the dealer as well. Hopefully others in your area will benefit from their integrity. With so many @hitbag dealers, it's important to give props to the good guys for other potential customers. The more we can drive folks away from the scum, and in the direction of quality dealers, the better for all.

You're making me wish I had selected red.

(I opted for Cactus Gray because I've driven red cars since 2007 and wanted a change.)

Pictures…if anyone wants anything specific let me know

Yeah - that is from my old F150 a 10K hitch that was also on our Ridgeline , but keeps my wife honest backing up. Just don’t spear a car :). She agrees - we don’t / won’t tow the big boat (25 ft) anymore and only tow the flats skiff which is much much lighter at around 2K+ with fuel, etc. We are on the water so ”big” boat goes everywhere on its own bottom - though with the cost of gas long trips are on hold a bit.

Really enjoying the color, as mentioned was not a fan - but this has won me over it really does look very very good and rich/deep. Best wishes to those still waiting - we did get lucky, but you make your own luck and our case we did push for priority, changed to DIBL and kept our nose clean on the order - no changes and in clean. Key word there is ”luck”, in our case it worked out we got it built before the “new” constraint wave. Definitely empathize with those still waiting, and yep Ford screwed the pooch on scheduling so that so many older orders are still waiting….
