No Insulation at Fender to engine!?

I think it has to make a difference. Can you see any light from the engine or is it completely covered? I ordered mine last month but still nothing yet.

Like others in the thread have already mentioned there is still a small gap at the top so it's not completely covered. Before you ask yes we did order the correct ones through Tasca Parts online store. Part numbers are NZ6Z-16072-A and NZ6Z-16071-A.

As far as not making a difference goes I'm sure it does but the difference is so small I couldn't tell.

Pathetic cost cutting in my opinion. Not every Mav is the $20K version. When you get into the $30K plus territory, these missing items start to add up.

That's why in my opinion the Maverick is only worth it in the cheaper xl and basic XLT versions.

Great question—- we’ll there is the windshield… lol and there is a pillow style insulation behind the back seat… depending on some having some not.. most with the B&O sound package. I’m also wondering if there is any in the front dash/flooring areas.. I will keep searching…. Best I have found is lariat with lux package states some acoustic sound advantages???? Maybe the lariat guys can chime in… I am going to get the engine cover, the side fender insulators, and if I ever have to have the windshield replaced I will get the lariat glass… these are cheap upgrades I don’t mind doing myself…. I couldn’t source a lariat w/lux in the color I wanted…

Another post here said that insurance won't replace OEM part with upgraded part. They wanted Lariat windshield, but couldn't get iton insurance, maybe if you're willing to pay out of pocket.

Received and installed insulation between fenders, engine compartment and doors to both fenders. It did cut down on engine noise some.

When I first did some extensive sound deadening/proofing to my vehicle I didn't have a meter BUT 75mph now felt/sounds like 60mph.
As far as engine noise I haven't seen any under hood insulation. Improve that and add a "D" gasket to the back and you'll hear the difference.

Amazon, D is the shape it's a door gasket. Comes in diff widths and heights. There is also a Z and P shaped. I'll post a pic of install.

Stumbled upon this thread and thought I’d update you all on mine. No insulation, 9/21 built XL Hybrid.

I got a large diameter black pipe insulation and cut it to size, slipped it in, and noticed a small difference. It’s like a pool noodle. You have to remove some clips from the fender to get it on nice and tight or your rip your fingers and arms up.

does not interfere with any door closing or wires, and should t do anything with water drainage. I’ll post a photo soon.

*sigh*... Came across this thread by chance; I got curious and went looking for these insulators.... I have a Lariat, and I'm missing the Driver's side one (I see the passenger side one installed fine) -- it's obvious it was missed when it was built. Since I bought it used (was returned by original owner w/ ~10,000 miles), I doubt I have any claim to complain to the dealer... Guess I'm going to spend $40 on the Drivers side one (NZ6Z-16072-A) because it bugs me too much. At least it's the easier side to install.

I'm still up in the air on whether or not they even make a difference or were worth the price. I don't have any empirical data to back up this claim but my ears and nose told me they didn't make a damn bit of difference.

My wife also said that she didn't notice a before and after difference either so.....
