Hello. I have a Hybrid XL and looking to add heated steering wheel and heated seats, ambitious I know. I purchased a 2020 Escape heated steering wheel with adaptive cruise control, CC is working great btw (regular not adaptive... yet!). So the clock spring doesn't have enough pins, which means I probably don't have the wiring in place. I ordered a clock spring that has the pins, should arrive tomorrow. Also, I ordered an HVAC module off a trashed 2020 Escape that had heated steering wheel buttons and heated seat buttons but NOT dual zone... important.. I think.

The back of the unit has extra pins, and the wiring harness that plugs into that, well, doesn't. So the only way to get this working is with some wiring work, maybe some fuses idk. So this is where you, and you, and maybe you come in. I was hoping someone could snap a picture of the HVAC wiring harness plug. It's really easy to remove the trim around the HVAC module area, it's kind of isolated so you don't have to remove a bunch of other trim panels. There's 2 plugs in the back of the module, and the one on the left is the one with the extra pins. I'll post up some pics of mine today when I get a chance. Thanks in advance.

p.s. yes I know I should have just ordered a higher trim but where's the fun in that?

Update. In order to remove the HVAC module you just need to pry the trim away, there are 4 clips holding it in place 2 on the left 2 on the right.

Here is the wire harness plug with missing pins that I'm aware of, not sure if someone elses higher level trim with heated stuff has more wires in the harness than this... Someone please give me some pics!!!

Here is the back of the original HVAC module

Here is the new HVAC module in place, I had to swap this button with the escape one since it was a car symbol and I wanted my little truck

Here is the new HVAC module rear which has extra pins

As for the steering wheel stuff, getting a new clock spring is not enough. The Steering Wheel Column Housing Assembly or whatever has a little board behind it with missing parts, see below.

This is my original board

Here is a picture of another Steering Wheel Column Switch Assembly that includes the parts for heated steering wheel
Ford Maverick XL Heated Seats/Steering Wheel!? | HVAC Wiring Harness | Need Pics, Help Steering_Column_Board_N

I cannot find just this board anywhere but this Housing Assembly part LB5Z-3F791-SB should do the trick. It appears to include the left stalk/right stalk so if you're looking to add Driver Assist Lane Warning stuff (which works btw), and the clock spring all together with it. Clock Spring and left stalk is already $170 shipped and this part above is like $220 shipped so not far off. I will update this post once it arrives and let everyone know if heated steering wheel is possible. The plug on the back of this housing assembly does plug into this section even though I have missing parts, so I'm hoping that it includes the wiring for heated steering wheel!

Someone with heated steering wheel or even heated seats please take a pic of the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the HVAC module. Should only take 5 minutes to do.

Also, I got the DAS Lane Keep thing working with an extra left stalk I got. And the only codes Forscan is throwing is missing Left/Right heated seat sensor which is to be expected. I don't see a plug underneath my seat for the heated pads I purchased so this one might be more complicated, but I'm still doing it.

Appreciate it. I thought about finding one at a dealership and taking it for a test drive just to snap some pics...

Seems like a proper wiring diagram would be so much easier than snapping photos......maybe requesting if anyone has that? You may also want to look into buying a used salvage main wiring harness from an escape/bronco sport, etc......might be easier and more cost effective to just pull a frankenstein job with the two harnesses, you could pull the wires and pins needed from the salvage harness and just route them accordingly and plug the pins into the existing connectors since they're most likely the same, just missing the wires/pins

I didn't think anyone had those yet, that would be WAY easier.

Well, hit a few snags. The HVAC module from the 2020 Ford Escape will not activate my A/C. Everything acts normal when pushing the A/C button but no cold air. Just setting the temp to LO produces colder air than using the A/C button. Tested multiple times swapping my XL one back in and double checked all settings several times. Also, there's a missing plug that goes into the back of the SCCM module now that I have the correct one, only 2 wires and a $40 pigtail could rectify that, but at the moment I'm putting this on hold until I can figure out the A/C issue.

Do you know if the Escape where the HVAC module was pulled was a Hybrid or gas model? It looks like the Hybrid model has a separate module (ACCM) since it uses the HV system to power the compressor.

Welp, that probably explains it. No I do not know, but based on your comment I presume it is.

How hard would it be to transplant the buttons and contacts from the Escape HVAC module into the one you removed from your Mav?

Maybe not that difficult but the back of the Escape HVAC module has extra pins for heated seats etc... which may be more work than it's worth so I'll investigate this more by tearing apart the HVAC modules completely.

False alarm A/C is working with the Escape HVAC module. I'm not entirely sure what fixed it but I reset the ACCM module, then copied the asbuilt from the MAV HVAC module perfectly over to the Escape module, then went back and tweaked a few settings. Pretty sure I must have left some setting from the Escape configuration, though I swear I went over it line by line several, several times.

I'll be ordering the pigtail and running the 2 wires from the SCCM module and hopefully that enables the heated steering wheel. Does me a whole lot of good now that winter is over but oh well.

Nice, congrats. You gave me an itch, now I'm looking at getting a hold of the dual zone HVAC control from a 2020 Escape. Not sure why I didn't just get the Lariat.

I wondered if the dual zone would even work for my XL. Figured heated steering wheel and potentially seats was enough.

were you able to make progress on this? I am going try to do mine before winter hits.

what board for the steering wheel did you end up going with? One from an escape?
