I live on the Gulf Coast, I don't need heated stuff. It comes on automatically if it's below 70 degrees outside.

Go to your setting on you dash menu and un check the box. Page 124 in your Maverick manual should help you.

Here's an idea, how about turning off the switches?
I turn them off when I get in the truck, but by then it's too late, hot seat and wheel. I have NEVER turned them on myself intentionally. I'll check out the settings, I hope I have the manual in my glovebox, I bought the truck used, I think I have only opened it once when I first bought it.

I love those creature features. I no longer have to wear gloves driving to work holding on to a cold steering wheel. My back and butt are bright red when I get out of the truck I am sure of it. But then it is into a cold and nasty beast of a cargo truck for a drive to a work site. So preheating buns, back, and hands help. Especially for slipping into cold gloves off the floor prior to driving.

Never had a vehicle with heated seats and steering until the Mav. We don't use them often but when we do they are amazing. Have never had them come on automatically, so the former owner of your truck set them up to do that. As others stated, check the settings and use them manually when needed.

On my Ecoboost XLT it doesn't come on automatically, you have to physically turn those features on after the car is started. Perhaps there is a setting that turns them on automatically that you can turn off.
