I found this post on the Expedition forum (https://www.expeditionforum.com/thr...t-inoperative-after-remote-start-event.58159/)

It sounds like you have to set up the "Climate Settings" through the FordPass mobile app instead of through the SYNC menu. I just tried it and it worked on my truck even using remote start through the key fob
I did the same thing today and it seems to work EXCEPT the heated seat was only at level 2. I see no way to adjust that (air temp was 25 F so pretty cold). I have a Cherokee and a Terrain and neither of them are this complicated. Seats and wheel come on when below 40 degrees. Cherokee stays on when started, Terrain needs manual input after starting.

Send a message to Ford or your dealer about the complexity issue. It may get simplified in an update.

Good morning. I just purchased a used 2025 XLT Luxury Edition last week, and haven't been able to get my heated seats or wheel to turn on with the remote start yet, despite trying everything listed on this thread except for a scheduled start on the app. I asked the dealership I bought it from and he only told me about adjusting the settings on the screen, which was the first thing I tried. Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you use the app to remote start your vehicle there will be options for the heated seats and wheel. Are you seeing those?

Can you post a screenshot with those enabled?

I am seeing those and have them set identically to the settings I physically turned on/left on in the truck. I can post a screenshot next time I start it.

Just confirming that to be the case because those are “hidden” in a dropdown menu by default, or they were in previous versions of the ford app.

I generally don’t like remote starting vehicles more than a minute or so before I get in and that’s not enough time for the seats or wheel to do anything. However this winter has been pretty brutal and cold so I’ve used it a lot.

I’ve found it takes a good 3-4 minutes when we’re dealing with 0-10 degree temps before I can feel it

Ok, thanks. Maybe they are on then because they seem to warm pretty quick when I start driving. Tough to tell with the brutal cold last week. I'll keep experimenting to see.

Here's some screenshots. Again, might just me being a newb and expecting them to be warmer faster, but seems like they're very fast when I start the truck from within so I feel like I easily remote it early enough for them to be warm.

Why not turn the heated seat up to the third level?

When you remote start, make sure the seat is on 3. I always had in the past, but even with my ‘22 the seat was not toasty when I got in. Even went to the dealer to have it checked out. For some reason, Ford no longer heats the seat to the max value; it just warms it even to ’take the edge off’. So IMO 3 is your best shot to get it the warmest it can be. Once it senses someone is actually sitting in the seat, then it warms to the setting. I suspect not having a body on the seat causes it to get too hot and maybe burn out the element? Just a guess on my part.

Makes sense, I always kept it at one or two when I was in there because I didn't like how hot it got with three. I'll try setting it on three when the cold weather returns though and see if that changes anything. I didn't realize it would just "take the edge off" until I sat in it. Thanks for the help guys.
