Lariat Lux: did you try the options before hand?

So I know I have a while to decide, but I'm curious how those here with the Lariat Lux decided the added features were worth it.

My wife's van has keyless entry/push button start and I love it. I can get that without going the Lux route and save some money. What I don't know about is the Adaptive cruise and lane centering.

Fanciest option I've ever had on ANY vehicle that was mine was regular old cruise control. I'v never had lane keep assist, or adaptive cruise, or the sign recognition system. My wife's van desnt even have that stuff.

So those that bought the Lariat Lux, was it stuff you had previously? Did you test drive either a Maverick with it or another vehicle with a comparable system? Or did you just say screw it I want the fancy stuff and order/buy it without ever having used it?

I don't know anyone with any of that stuff so when it's time to order I'm considering going to my local Ford dealership and having them let me test drive something with the Ford system to see if it's worth it to me. I drive 70 miles on the highway Monday through Friday for work so it's definitely a system I'd use, just not sure if I feel like it's worth the added cost.

My 2019 Ranger had the tech package which had adaptive cruise. I also rented a Rav4 with adaptive cruise+lane centering. I really really like both iterations, but opted for XLT Lux because I just couldn't stomach the interior on the Lariat. I certainly would have liked to have those options, but I don't miss them a ton after 7K miles (including several full day drives on our trip to Toronto from Minneapolis).

Lane certering was nice, but not nearly as big a deal as adaptive cruise. I really wish that was included or a stand-alone option with CP360 - I definitely would've paid a good chunk for it on its own, but I wasn't going to spend another $5K on a truck to get it (and with an interior I just don't like at all).

I suspect adaptive cruise wasn't in the CP360/lower trims due to the chip shortages.

I went Lariat Lux specifically for ACC w/Lane Centering. I'd never owned a vehicle with those features before and I'd never tried it anywhere either. I do however use CC all the time so I just went for it. I'm glad I did. It makes highway driving much less stressful. I don't think I'll ever go back.

I've never had any of the fancy driver assist features on a car before. I just went for it and ordered my lariat lux without any kind of test drive. It's only been a week, but ACC and lane centering work very well in the right conditions

I had leased a $41,000 (b4 taxes/fees) Sonata PlugIn Hybrid back in 2017 that had all the features of the Lariat Lux and First Edition packages.

So I had the pleasure of experiencing all the various features., including ACC, keyless entry, etc. I definitely say it was worth every penny I financed/spent on the Maverick $34,160 (b4 taxes/fees).

Same here. I wanted ACC but not that interior or the tiny back window so I went XLT.

I’m a sucker for options. That’s why I opted for the loaded Lariat Lux. I can’t stand cloth seats. Never test drove or tested any of the Lariat options. I hope the B&O sound is good. If I have a problem with the sound, Crutchfield is a short delivery away and prior knowledge in sound. My wife’s Buick has remote start and heated steering/seats which are a must for me now. Im getting SOFT! A 70 mile daily commute would be easier with cp360 with the adaptive cruise and lane centering. To me, the cost is worth it. I value luxury in this point in my life. YOLO.

If you never used those options, you will not miss them at all.
But once you start using them you miss them everytime you drive. Personally its worth it. I would say splurge a little more and let the car work for you

Push button start I love.

My current trucks CC stopped working years ago and I have no desire to chase a vacuum leak to fix it, so ACC and Lane Centering sound awesome to me haha

Nope. Closest I got was a Lariat. I previously drove a 2002 Accord, so most things were an upgrade with or without it.

The upgraded sound system is mediocre at best. I wouldn't be surprised if the speakers are the same as stock and they just add two more.

I want Lariat Lux plus CP360 TWICE for two reasons. 1. My wife insisted on heated seats. 2. I don’t think I will ever find any vehicle with all tech that the Lux has for anywhere near the price.

ACC and Lane Centering are both AWSOME!! (That’s my opinion, for what it’s worth. )

I love the Active-X heated seats in my wifes EcoSport, and that one doesn't have ACC or Lane Centering. I have been not real excited about the lane centering in vehicles I have driven but this version is a step up so we will see. With my bad back heated seats are a must, and if I am honest, I love the heated steering wheel in my wifes Eco as well. If I didn't get this version I would have gone to the other extreme and bought an XL. As it is I have a loaded version that I just wish would get here!

That's kind of where I'm at. Plan is once the Maverick is paid off start shopping for a Super Duty and camper.

So either splurge and buy the luxury items and hold off the Super Duty a bit longer or go cheap as possible to pay it off as quick as possible

I am sure that you can "TEST DRIVE" a new super duty with all those fancy options you wanna try anyways i myself wish i would have been able to get the lariat lighting, but i really prefer the xlt interior and not a fan of the acc/lane centering (most people do love them options though) and i do miss the push button start. If you really want to "upgrade" later into a super duty with big camper why's not just go for it now? or at least drive one...

I'm not even sure ACC and Lane Centering are available on the Super Duty? They weren't the last time I looked
