A really awesome move on Ford's part would be a "lease while you wait" program for all of us Maverick wannabes. A program where Ford would let you lease any car or truck they sell, and the lease would end with no penalty when your Maverick arrived. Lots of less frustrated Maverick buyers. Lots of used car inventory for Ford a few months down the road (that's a good thing right now).

If Ford offered to temporarily put me in an Escape or Bronco Sport or Ranger while I'm waiting for my Maverick, without insane terms, and with a guaranteed exit plan - I'd remember that in a positive way for years to come.
now this is a great idea - I thought the same thing - the dealers would not only be making some cash on the short term leases - when they come back they'll probably be worth even more than they are today..

So, after listening to the @fordvideoguy livestream on YouTube last night, one of the big takeaways is that Ford plans to build more than 10,000 Mavericks in June (April scheduling). So, that's pretty good news, as it indicates a significant increase from current production levels.

Tim also said Ford has told dealers it intends to produce MY22 Mavericks until Oct. 21. So, that means there are still nearly FIVE FULL MONTHS of production to be scheduled. Assuming Ford can meet or exceed its June production quota for the remainder of the model year, you're looking at getting an additional almost 50,000 Mavericks scheduled, on top of all those that have already been scheduled and/or produced.

OK, so that's the GOOD news. Now, for the BAD news — at least for those of us with constrained items. The Lariat Luxury and XLT Luxury packages remain severely constrained, at just 13 percent and 14 percent of available build capacity, respectively. I believe what that means is that Ford can build no more than 13 percent of current Lariat production with the Lux pack and no more than 14 percent of current XLT production with the Lux pack.

So, assuming that situation does not improve, and Ford is building 10,000 Mavericks a month for the remainder of the production year, that means no more than 1,300 of those built each month will be Lariat Luxes, and no more than 1,400 will be XLT luxes. Or, taken as a whole for the remainder of the model year, Ford may only be able to schedule another 6,500 Lariat luxes and another 7,000 XLT luxes. Please tell me @fordvideoguy if I am not explaining this properly, but bottom line is things will definitely be "iffy" for those of us with luxury packages.

If you have a build without luxury or co-pilot 360, I would actually feel pretty confident about getting scheduled during MY22, barring significant additional setbacks in the supply chain.
I heard the same production numbers for the Maverick, and I also heard him talking about 21,000 Bronco Sports being bulld in June at the same plant. He mentioned the Maverick list of constraints, but I think the ones most people would be interested in is the Hybrid Engine is constrained to 40% and CoPilot 360 is constrained to 32%. That said, it looks like only 4,000 hybrid Maverick trucks per month are built.

What I find interesting is that CoPilot 360 is standard equipment in the Bronco Sport, so there is obviously no constraint for those 21,000 vehicles. But for the 10,000 Mavericks, only 3,200 will see CoPilot 360.

Assuming that the CP360 chipsets/circuitry is the same for both vehicles, the constraint seems interesting considering the backlog of Maverick Hybrids out there. As a side note, one can look at the Bronco Sport forum where it seems that they have a backlong akin to the non-hybrid Maverick.

Please, someone tell me if my numbers or thought process is wrong.

Did you decide yet ?
Yes, it was an easy decision after the first few minutes of excitement. I politely declined and wished them luck finding another buyer. I guess I don't want a Maverick bad enough to get caught up in all the hysteria and mania surrounding this little truck. I've been car shopping and test driving the last few weekends and have a few picked out that will be a good "Plan B".

Hysteria is a good word. Like WTF is going on?

I bought my plan B this week. A Seltos SX-Turbo. I'll still buy the Maverick if it comes and decide which one is the keeper. Both are unique vehicles, but the Seltos has been awesome so far - particularly the luxury-car-level infotainment system. I am not a person who needs a truck for any reason, I just like the Maverick.

Most cars are being sold with a ADM...not just this. Plenty of people overpaying for for various brands and models as well. No hysteria, just a markup for the impatient. 99% here have been waiting a while for MRSP or less. 🙄

Put a hitch on the Seltos and you will never need a truck

Don't think I'll be towing with its dry DCT.. but I didn't need to tow anyway.

It would be fine to 2k without worry. My point being a small landscape trailer and an suv can be just as much “truck” as the base maverick anyway for that rare situation.

There is a subtle difference between production planning (done well in advance based on marketing projections) and actual material constraints.

In the case of the hybrid, Fords original production planning forecasts were 40% hybrid, and actual production is about 40%, so there are no hybrid constraints. They are building to plan (which includes supplier contracts locked well in advance of production).

Similar for CP360 (at least at the Hermosillo plant). Bronco Sport and Maverick are building CP360 more or less to plan.

The real problem is Ford completely botched the marketing forecast for the Maverick. They grossly underestimated the popularity, which is why it sold out so early in the model year. And they underestimated the take rate on key options like CP360, the SIBL, and luxury packages, which is why some dealers are pushing people to drop those options.

So what is being said since I have ordered a Mav XL Hybrid base model I should be getting a vin and build date soon. I ordered it 10/25/21. I am just getting very impatient with Fords processes and notification procedures.

@fordvideoguy do you have any guidance on XLT orders with both the Luxury Package and copilot 360 options? My hybrid XLT with both of these was confirmed on Oct 2nd. From what I read a few weeks ago, it seemed like the recommendation to remove options only applied to orders with either of these instead of both. I figured there might be overlap in the chips that are used making it more attractive for Ford to build orders with both packages instead of just one of them. Not sure if that's still a thing anymore though

Welp, I did it. Went to the dealer, talked to a seemingly nice gentleman who confirmed what I already knew, luxury packages are very constraining right now, he said what we on the forum already know, only about 13% of orders with the lux package are getting built.

This guy, not someone I spoke to before, said he tried to tell some customers their vehicles may get pushed back until 2023, but that they didn't seem to care and kept their constrained options.

Anyway, removed the lux from my XLT order. Added back in the hard drop in, added the 110 volt/400 watt outlet for the cab (never know when that plug will come in handy), and added a moonroof. Really wanted a moonroof from the start but didn't think that was a worthy expensive.

Will miss some of the things in the lux package, would have been nice to have all that stuff, but I could care less about heated seats, power driver seat, and remote start.

My new build will save me $980, so, I can put that towards some sort of bed cover after the fact...

And you may or may not have made any difference at all.. lots of people who remove options still do not get scheduled.

But thanks for giving up your chips to the rest of us willing to wait for exactly what we want.

Sure it's possible it's a conspiracy by Ford to help you get your order faster. I'm gambling on the lux package actually being constrained.
