I didn't notice anything, and neither boat was rocking. I went with this one: https://amzn.to/3L1knHX
Next time I load up I'll take a look.
Does your kayak sit flush on the bed all the way through? Mine is lifted because of the slight height difference.

Does you kayak lay flat on the bed all the way through or is there a slight lift at the end of them bed? I can’t tell from your photo.

Much easier then car topping, like I’ve done for years. Strapped at the bow, middle through handles, back to bed extender and the stern to bed extender. Only issue with the harbor freight (and most) bed extenders is even on the lowest setting it’s a little too high for the bed. Nose of the kayak is on the bed and the stern is on the extender. In between is gradually raised up. Just going to wedge in my foam kayak pad I used with my old car.

Thanks for the ideas...

Feels flush when I use it. Nothing was rocking and it didn't appear to have a gap anywhere. I'll check it out the next time I use it.

I made one of those for my little Buick. I have to swap the upright "T" post for either the
cargo area or the roof rack. I like that stand on wheels to make it easy to load..

The harbor freight bed extender on the lowest setting is about even with the upper wheel wells in the bed. Put a 2 x 4 across the wheel wells in the flex bed inserts and it should be close to even then.

I bought this one. I have used it on my '11 Ranger to carry long lumber. I plan to use it for the same purpose on my Maverick if and when it arrives.

I have the same one and have so far used on pieces up to 14 ft long with no issues. Just keep in mind regardless of what the bed extender says your max tongue weight on a Maverick regardless of build is 400 lbs.

That was an idea but it would require me to remove my bed cover every time I load my kayak. Right now it slides right under the cover.

Looks great. General question to the forum. I did not select the tow option for my XL HYBRID and what are the options to get a tow attachment to install a bed extender. Thanks for your help.

Adding mine, it's a breeze even with my 12'er. Got the hitch extender from walmart for $60 delivered.

Thanks for the pic. Just got my maverick last week! I’m a kayak fisher , have old town 106 pdl. The boat was to heavy for me to car top, and my old truck was a 87 Toyota. I bought my Maverick hybrid to go fishing all over my state.
I will be using the Boondox bed extender.
Another kayak fisher, me too!

Is that strap going through the scuppers?
