Hey guys new to the forums here!

Just looking to see if anyone can share there experiences with their hobie kayak and what it's like loading and hauling it around! haven't seen many pictures or posts about it. If you could, here is a list of highlights I would be interested in hearing about:

What Hobie Kayak?
What's the length of your Hobie Kayak?
What bed extender do you use?
Any issues hauling?
Any tips?

Thanks!

That's pretty sweet and thanks for the reply! I'm curious about how much my hobie would stick out from the bed with a bed extender. My hobie is a pro angler 12 and is about 120lbs so it would be a bit tough for me to get it on a rack like that. Also, a little worried if it would hurt the hull of the bed using a bed extender because there is no support for the middle part of the kayak. If I hit bumps while driving, that middle part of the hull could be prone to potential breakage or cracking with the force of the bumps and no support in that specific area. Maybe I'm being anal but that's why I'm asking for people's experiences!

I just joined and carry my 12'8" but only 50 lb Hurricane Skimmer on my 2010 Ranger with a TrakRak. Ranger is not getting any younger and am looking at a new Maverick in near future but don't like that it only has a 4' bed. I don't drive far to launch but fear that same lack of support, not so much amidships but with both ends "drooping!" I am really hoping that Ford offers a 6' bed AWD

A hobie compass and revolution 11. Bottom kayak is 12’ in length. No issues for a shorter haul. For a longer haul, I’d add a 4th ratchet strap.
