I really didn't care for it too much. In person it almost looked like more like a cooper or burnt orange color. It was nice, but not my style.Man that red looks better, every time I see a picture of it.
I'm sorry. I had no idea there was more than one Germain Ford. However, the trainer said he is the one that will be all over the Ohio, Western PA areas. So, I'm sure at some point other dealers will be getting their training.I thought he meant Germain Ford Beavercreek but they didn't know about it so it must be Germain Ford ColumbusDidn't know there was more than one.
But it WILL go faster if you paint it red!I really didn't care for it too much. In person it almost looked like more like a cooper or burnt orange color. It was nice, but not my style.
Hybrid still saves you $1K up front, still probably 7mpg better highway rating because the 2.5 engine is still an atkinson cycle which tend to be very frugal, is recommended 87 octane vs recommended 91 on the ecoboost for full performance (probably smart to run that at least in the summer months), and long term hybrid e-CVT powertrains like that tend to last forever and are very low maintenance whereas direct injection turbocharged engines can require a bit more frequent oil changes and eventually end up with a bit of carbon buildup.Yep, but for some of us, town/mix is 90%. And owning two trucks, that’s the killer. Highway is a wash because there is no functional benefit from hybrid in that case. I see (hope to see) the benefit from hybrid for daily town driving. But agree, if you are a primary highway driver, then hybrid prob not best option
I get this, but wanted the AWD. Really wished they would have come out with an AWD hybrid. Also, most of my driving is highway miles. So, I'll take what I'm hearing right now.Ha, just wait til you see Hyrids getting 40 in town and the EcoBoost drinking premium in town only getting 23.
Both will be adequate highway, hyrbrid will do way better in town.
I asked if he knew when he'd hit other dealers, and the only dealer in the Columbus area he mentioned was Germain. I ordered mine through Roush. So, I'm hoping they get training soon. Sounds like the trainer just goes where he's told...Any word on if it has already been through Ricart and Dick Masheter?
I'm a cheapskate. So if you're trying to be a cheapskate, even driving pure highway the hybrid would still be cheaper.
Yes, the electric motor is of minimal help at constant highways speeds, but there is virtually zero chance the 2.0 ecoboost is as efficient as the Atkinson cycle at highway speeds. That is literally the purpose of Atkinson cycle engines in hybrids; its expansion ratio is significantly larger than its compression ratio resulting in decreased low speed output (which can be made up by the electric motor) but greater efficiency at higher speeds. Then you have to consider the transmissions.Yep, but for some of us, town/mix is 90%. And owning two trucks, that’s the killer. I do not _want_ anyone to get low MPGs. I'm a fanatic of high MPGs.I have a feeling a lot of hybrid owners are wanting the 2.0 EB and/or awd Maverick to get under 30 mpg to justify why they got the Hybrid and low power option.
The trainer truck I saw in DFW was showing 24.9 combined. This trainer would have had more city than highway as he said he was in downtown Dallas before heading to his dealerships.I think you are right James. The 30-35 MPG for the 2.0 engine makes the hybrid a little less appealing. I wonder what the MPG in town will be?
Yes, we were told it's the same 2.0L without any tweaks. Is this the same engine the Bronco Sport uses and how far out are the EPA MPG findings?
+1. The Escape 2.0L AWD is rated 31 highway. These trainer reports go above that by ~5MPG.I'd expect between Bronco Sport 2.0 and Escape 2.0 AWD MPG estimates on the Maverick AWD 2.0 configuration.
