Thanks for showing this. It looks like on the xlt that whole panel comes off like a tray, I wonder if the push to start on a lariat will change taking that panel off. Did it pop off fairly easily?



Also, alternatively, could you have disconnected the lead to the usb c and used it and left the usb a connected?



also a person could use that splitter and put another usb port where the cigerette lighter is.

Think this would work and still send power to the original USB and power the hidden dongle?

I guess I'm the opposite. Doesn't bother me at all taking 3 second to plug my phone in, but music cutting out often for 1/2 to 1 second is absolutely unacceptable.
I experienced the same thing with wireless AA.

I received an update to my phone right after I posted that and it hasn't done it once since. It may have been a device issue. That's one of the things about all these devices to turn Android Auto into wireless, there are so many variables in head units and Android devices. Lots of mix and matches that some combos won't work or have certain glitches that others might not.

It's not very frequent, but I wouldn't say it's less than infrequent. So I'm not sure if it's the right choice for you.
Today had some, worse than before. Think it might have been related to my phone getting throttled due to being in my sweatpants pocket. First time I noticed it being warm unlike other times.

You would need to find one that preserves a data connection on one leg of the splitter to connect the dongle to. Often those are power only. You could also run into power limitations on the circuit.

Wiring a 12V to mini USB power source like for a dashcam might be the better option if you still want to power the USB-A port.

In general splitters don't maintain data connections they are just for power. If the cost is low enough it might be worth the test though.

Are any of you seeing AA connect pretty quickly, then disconnect and take about 5 mins to re-connect?

I also have a weird Bluetooth drop issue pre-AA.

I was messing around with my USB port and put a little pressure on it and pop, out it came! This was awesome because I could see who it plugs in. If you unplug the wire to the USB port you have a MINI USB Male connection. If you buy this dongle from amazon (https://amz.run/5IYn) for $7 (free prime shipping) you have all you need to make it all disappear.

Only down side is the USB A port is now dead and unusable. That said the USB-C is fully functional.

I have tried factory resetting the wireless adapter. It works plugged directly into the usb-a when the cable is plugged into the back. Any tips or tricks you had to do?? Tired everything I can think of for the last hour.

Did you read the instructions? I know that sounds dickish because you'd think you wouldn't need to. I had the same problem and it says something like, plug in your phone first to get AA running, then unplug it and plug in the adapter and magically it appears to work.

Happy to talk through it sometime if you want too.

Just in case someone else has this problem...

I had a slight problem connecting the MA1 dongle when I installed it just now. The instructions say to make the Android Auto connection to the phone by cable first, then unplug the phone and plug in the dongle, then wait for the flashing blue light, then connect the phone by bluetooth to the dongle.

The blue light never came on. After waiting several minutes, I pressed the button on the side of the adapter until the blue light flashed, and then was able to make the bluetooth connection to the phone. Everything went perfectly after that. I just had to agree to a couple of things on the phone and car screens and it was off and running.

(I don't know if it makes a difference, but my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note9 with Android v.10. The adapter booklet says you need v.11, but this website says you can use v.10 on a Samsung phone.)

Yep. I ordered in Feb 5 for March 25 delivery ... and had it in my hands on Feb 16th. Several others reported the same accelerated deliveries as well.
