Placed myself on a 2023 order list for an XLT. Curious, I see on the discussion boards that adding a factory storage compartment in the bed is an easy project, and around $45 bucks. I understand there is 12 volts pre wired in all the Maverick models, that's good. Can the 400 watt/12 volt outlet kit be ordered and installed easily? And does anyone know the price? Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure the inverter itself is mounted in the cabin behind the back seat and operates the in cab and bed outlets. That's not something I would want to do, but I'm sure it's doable. The other thing about it is that the plugs are not rated very high. If all you're after is in bed, you may get better results using the pre wired DC and provide your own inverter mounted inside a cubbie or the side of the truck itself.

I'm planning on putting a USB, 12vdc, switch in my driver's side cubby. I got it for less than $20 on Amazon. I'll probably end up using a cooler and tire pump. If I need AC, I ordered the in cab option, but could also just use a plug in inverter.

I hope this helps. Welcome!

The pre-wired 12V DC connectors in the bed are only rated for 15-20amps so that's limiting to ~200W inverter.

Like @mamboman777, I'm planning on putting a USB, 12vdc, switch in my driver's side cubby. I have an older 200W plug-in inverter to use for AC power if necessary - either in the cab or from the bed.

Just waiting on the truck now......

Heads up the 400 watt inverter factory installed is $150 no muss no fuss, Also even if you don't think you will be towing anything the factory installed trailer hitch with 4 pin connector is only a $100.00 because if you fail to add it to your build and then decide after the fact the hitch alone is $305.00 and there's no wiring harness either. The good thing is you have time to make the smart choices on your new Maverick 👌

There are zero reasons why you shouldn't add the inverter and the tow hitch on a factory build - heck even the full-sized spare is worth the cost.
Maybe I'm missing something here,, I DID order the inverter, and the hitch, as well as a drop in bed mat. But, I'm told the inverter I ordered was the set up that's in the center console accessible from the back seat, and as of today the dealer claims he thinks no path exists to order just a bed inverter/outlet set up in the build. Two days ago, I went to my Ford dealer and looked over a customers XLT, inverter, and hitch was ordered per the build sheet info. There was no cubby, no inverter in the bed, but "The Inverter" was ordered and on the build sheet. The inverter you order in the build apparently IS NOT the inverter in the bed. In my search to gain knowledge on this issue this afternoon, I've seen posts that seem to suggest the only way you can get the bed inverter set up is to order a "Luxury" package, then the bed has the cubby and inverter set up. I cant belive it would take a seperate wire loom for this option, and hoping one could order the part (just like the $46 cubby assembly) Am I wrong here?? Thanks

I don't know how you got on a list to "order" a 2023? We're all unable to do that until August and when that comes around then you will see if any option changes are different than the 2022 model year that have been stopped as of November (hybrid) and January for all the rest...

I get what you mean TRQ - the bed outlet I think are locked behind the “luxury package” and that’s the only place I’ve seen it - it is still linked to the same in-cab inverter, I am guessing they just give you an outlet linked to the 12V lines in the tail.

As a mechanic wire nuts on automotive electrical makes my eye twitch.
Were you abused by a old beat up pre owned lifted Jeep, or perhaps a Civ8c with a "system" and neons? It okay you can talk about it here.
