Just installed my X15 today. Put me on the happy list with this one. Second photo is just shadows. There is nothing on the cover.
Looks good. A couple question, if you don’t mind:
1. Can you open and close the tailgate without having to unlatch the cover?
2. Do you need to adjust the Velcro sides, or does it just lay down ok as you unroll?
3. With cover all down and tailgate closed, can the Velcro be released from the side to see into the bed?

1. You can open, but will need to pop cover to close tailgate, and then close cover again.
2. You don't have to adjust. It stays perfectly secure. However, I did make some slight adjustments just to get the perfect tight and clean look.
3. Hmm. It seems too tight to do that. If someone really worked at it, They might be able to get a very narrow view, but it would not be easy. I can take a closer look in the daylight tomorrow.

I know this is reviving a bit of an old thread, but I found another nice "real world" video of this cover in use on a Maverick. Shows the mounting points in more detail, the roll up/down/the latching system, etc...

Check out:

I ordered and installed the pro x15, but having issues getting the cover to fit and latch properly. I’ve reached out to real truck where I bought it, but I was hoping someone might be able to take a couple pictures to show how their rails fit, as I think the length on mine might be wrong.

I have my rails set as far back as they can go (3/8” off the tailgate) but the front/can end of the rail has an extension cap on it that essentially extends the length of the rail by about an inch so it’s over the bulkhead. With this cap, I can’t get the header bar to fit without it twisting apart , and it won’t latch at the rear.

I’ve attached pictures of the drivers side rail front and rear…. Is there any chance someone w this cover could take similar photos so I could compare?

Just finished installing my tonneau cover, it is exactly what I was looking for, soft cover with the flush look of hard covers. I like it.

Installation was a little trickier than I thought, the cover would not close until I adjusted the tension, I think it's still a little to tight but I'll give it a few days before I try any mode adjustments.

If you look at the instructions you're supposed to put it out on a hot Sunny day and then peak under the Velcro up by the cab and see where the little adjustment screw heads are and it tells you right there what it should be, You don't want it to be too tight to start you can always tighten it but once you stretch it out forget it

Something looks way to tight or broken on that bottom photo. I've never had any truxedo covers do that and I've had 4. On 4 different trucks.
Agreed - something is definitely off, and I have the tension screws fully backed out. I sent pics to real truck and they’re reaching out to truxedo. It seems like the rails are just a little too long.

I have just installed a pro x15 o my maverick. I have the same issue as you, it is very tight . The ends on the front of my rails are longer the same as yours. I couldn't get the 3/8th" between the front of the bed and the side rail. I am going to contact Truxedo about the issue. If you look at the parts replacement diagram for the maverick, it shows the piece on the front of the side rail as being almost flush with the end of the rail. Obviously two different parts for the front end of the side rails.

Now I am paranoid. I don't have my truck yet to confirm fit, but this is what my rails look like.... Please keep us up to date about if this becomes a known issue with what they are sending us.

I spent some time on the phone with truxedo, and the takeaways are:

- they Changed the designed recently, but the plastic extension caps on the rails are the latest version.

- I was able to install the header bar and get the cover to latch, but only with the tailgate down

- their engineer recently test fit the x15 on the maverick and confirmed that it’s tight. They also noted that the rear header bar needs to be closed with the tailgate down due to the design of the maverick tailgate…. Opposite from what they say in the manual. That doesn’t seem to bode well for weatherproofing

I also had issues installing this cover. After a few storms I’ve noticed it’s not dry inside. I think I need to make adjustments.

Are you able to close the cover with the tailgate up? or does it have to be down to latch?

I have been in contact with Truxedo. They are sending me the ends that are all but flush with the end of the side rails. Part number 1118248. That will allow the front bar to slide back enough to loosen the cover. With the longer ends the front rail edges stick out to far to slide back at all.

I believe the tailgate has to be down. I might be wrong though.
Tailgate needs to be down to unlock the cover to roll it up. It's not recommended to close with tail gate up as there is weatherstrip that positions itself. Process is to roll cover down, clip in lock and then close tailgate.

This is a pic of the front side rail being to long for the front rail to slide back for cover adjustment.

This is the tailgate end of the side rail, I used these ends to put on the front end of the side rails.

Now there is room for the front rail to move back so the cover can be adjusted for tension.

Now I need the end caps for the tailgate end of the side rails to replace the ends I used to put on the front of the side rails (1118700).

There seems to be two styles of side bed rails. Some of the end caps have a screw through the top surface. The other have a screw in the end of the end cap.
Ford Maverick Truxedo Pro X15 tonneau cover installed 1644964593604

The ones with a hole in the top seem to have the same caps at both ends , allowing the tension to be adjusted. The ones with the hole in the ends, the front one is just to long to allow the front cover rail to slide back and adjust tension.
