Lock in documentation fees as well.
Negotiate the out the door price, before taxes and license when you place the order.

I ordered from Chapman and will take the courtesy delivery, got the price and what the CD dealer is providing but It will be interesting to see when I take delivery if they don't just try to upsell me something. I don't think dealers can help themselves. "I know you didn't buy from us but we have this extended warranty and paint protection, hey we can etch vin numbers in your windows..."

I called around before ordering one. Most dealers around me were selling at msrp but I kept calling till found one that didn’t require a deposit. You just gotta shop around. Lee Sapp Ford in Ashland Nebraska is my dealer.

I joined Veterans Advantage to get the X Plan pricing after a 90 day wait. So far I'm not really see a lot of discount when I price "my" Maverick using the X plan. I'm guessing the real savings will in the doc fee because from what I've read the dealer can only charge up to $100.

I did too. I think it is 60 days. My salesman said I don’t tell them about the X Plan until the car comes in. We will see.

My salesman said they, the dealership, didn't have access at that time to X plan on the Maverick. However, with your Veterans Advantage membership you can apply for and receive a PIN # from Ford to access the X plan website and "build" your Maverick to see what the pricing will be. It doesn't appear to be a lot of $$ saved using X plan, however, reading the plan's rules a dealership can only charge up to $100 in doc fees, which in my case can save me about $700 just in doc fees that my dealership wants to charge! Plus Ford gives $500 off to Vets, which from what I've again read in the plan's rules can be combined with the X plan. So you have the potential for saving a few $$$ using the X plan.

Gotcha. Sorry for confusion, now I know where you're coming from. The UShip amount would be from Florida to PA, NOT from border location to Florida.

Yes, the UShip amount is the Deposit I'll have to provide Tom in PA. It's his insurance since he owns the truck if I decline delivery. I'm expecting to take delivery so it will just come off the bottom of what I owe him. The only way I'll decline is if it's damaged.

Tom has told us the vehicle will not enter PA air space. It is shipped direct to CD. Once Scheduled, I have to give him (Tom, Chapman Ford) a deposit equal to the uShip amount to send the vehicle up to PA. Nowhere has he told me the vehicle will be shipped FROM PA to FL and if I don't like it, pay again to send it back to PA.
