I have BLIS on my F250 and the way ford implements it is useless, just flashes the mirror light if you are about to crash into someone, no beeps nothing, you hardly notice it, plus I dont trust it to work nor should anyone else. The rear cross traffic does work though, about the only thing worth a shit, but my truck is way bigger and hard to see backing into traffic. I opted out of 360 for the tiny mav.
Ummm, if you don't notice it, then you're not checking your mirrors before you make a lane change! How can you look into a mirror and not see it???

But you shouldn't just blindly trust it. I agree with you there. And you shouldn't order it if you don't want it. But I hope you are checking your mirrors before and during lane changes. And I think the sound is a setting in the Maverick.

Damn right! Althe other dealers did.
these things designed to try to make an inattentive driver, ass rider, or careless driver into a good one.
I couldn't agree more.

The last thing we want is something that might turn a bad driver into a good driver, right? :devilish:
Dont forget the seat warmers and steering wheel warmer 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I use gloves, and insulated long underwear on them cold days.
And don't forget those new-fangled glass side windows!

If roll-down Isinglass shades were good enough for my momma, they're good enough for me you!🌧

Convex mirror circles? What kind of "nanny shit" is that? That's as bad as having two side mirrors.

We didn't have that hand-holding crap in my day. We kept our head on a swivel instead of just stupidly looking in the direction we were going.

I knew in the 1960s -- when they started requiring that passenger side mirror -- that it was all going to be downhill from there. And now look at us. Power steering. Power brakes. Cup holders...

And turn signals, for god's sake... What's the matter with your arm?

I don't know what's happening. Nostalgia just isn't what it used to be... :devilish:

I use my eyes and look over my shoulder, pretty easy and works 100%

Exactly. Simple is better. Less electronics. This stuff has enough in it already.

So, if you NEVER use your mirrors before initiating a lane change, then I agree the BLIS indicator will never be any use to you.

But I would venture to guess more than 90% of drivers also use the mirrors as part of the lane change process. Even if they look behind their shoulder too.

Ordered an XLT hybrid (lux package, CP360) on July 15. My scheduled build date has been shifted from March 7 to April 4 and then back to March 21. Really hoping it stays at March 21.

I use both. Never had a problem, never had a need for that extra B.S. Been driving 37 years without it. Been doing just fine.

Agreed. Both seems the practical, safe and wise way to change lanes. I just am surprised he says he doesn't look at his mirrors in the lane change process.

I think he means he checks his mirrors then over the shoulder. I also try to keep aware of other cars constant positioning around me on the freeway. I am periodically scanning my side and rear view mirrors as I drive along with periodically scanning the instruments. Always done it. Its just habit.

Bring on all that fancy electronics. This computer geek loves every bit of it. Just wish the Maverick had Blue Cruise !!!!! Just get a good extended warranty so that at my age I will croak before it is out of warranty, !!!!
